Am moving from AOL after giving them plenty of chances - across to Be Unlimited I do not see a lot on this board about them is that because nobody is with them or there is nothing negative to report?
Any comments welcome!!

Be and O2 share their network. Reports of O2 seem generally good so I would expect the Be is much the same.0

I've been with Be for a while now, best internet provider I've had and wish I'd changed to them sooner. Never been disconnected, constant fast speed and excellent customer service.
I don't think I've ever heard anything bad said about them.Dum Spiro Spero0 -
Go with O2, cheaper but uses the same service & hardware. (O2 bought out BE recently)
If LLU is available in your area, it's well worth it.0 -

O2 and BE Unlimited use the same network, and both use ADSL2+ on your landline. Technically they are almost identical, although BE on their unlimited package will offer as high as your line will support up to 24Meg and a static IP address. O2 charge differentially between a 16Meg and 20Meg package, and the IP address is not guaranteed to be static (although it is very sticky, and hardly ever does so).
Unless you are on a very short landline you are unlikely to get 24Meg, so from a Moneysaving viewpoint O2 is sometimes a better bet. It's worth checking out the likely speed your line can support before choosing between them:
O2 Pro Package (up to 20Meg): £22.02 a month (£17.13 a month if have O2 mobile)
BE Unlimited Package (up to 24Meg): £17.50 a month
O2 Premium Package (up to 16Meg): £14.68 a month (£9.79 a month if have O2 mobile)
BE Value (up to 8 Meg): £13.50 a month
O2 Standard (up to 8 Meg): £12.23 a month (£7.34 a month if have O2 mobile)
O2 are cheaper than BE and give a further discount if you use an O2 mobile. They also appear to score slightly higher on customer service on Thinkbroadband (they have a UK call centre whereas BE's is in Eastern Europe IIRC).0 -
I've been with Be for 12 months and wouldn't change at the minute. They have been excellent. I've never had any problems.0

I do have an O2 mobile - which incidentally is a business line - which anyone can get even if you are not a business. It is £90 + VAT per month it gives me unlimited UK and European landline calls, unlimited UK and European mobile calls any network and unlimited texts and some internet stuff which does not interest me.
Anyway I think I will stick with the BE £17.50 product. Incidentally AOL provided MAC Code within 4 hours!0 -

Dont forget BE have a monthly contract,..On the cheapest tariff you need to do 12 months before the monthly contract kicks in,
and dont forget the Quidco discount.Child of a Fighting Race.0 -
been with them for nearly a year, it's been mostly plain sailing until the last couple of months where they have had big congestion issues in some exchanges(I'd probably say due to the number of O2 subscribers joining during the year but I can't guarantee that). That said they have been fairly responsive in doing stuff about it and upgrading links and it seems to be back on the road to improvement but only time will tell. Looking at teh tracking graphs that were set up to monitor the issues looks like they resoved around the 17th in this area so hopefully it's plain sailing now. Would still recommmend them as apart from this blip they have been fine0

Yeah they seem fine now after doing some upgrades0
