Here Tig - it is an oven! There is an epic thread in old style about them and Lou has one... my oven is just a bit unreliable - so I am considering getting one as we are in rented so can't really justify replacing the oven!0

No, I think it takes the same time as a normal oven, it runs at about 220* (according to a post on old style) but is more efficient due to it's size, wattage (voltage? I dunno!)
There is a video on Lakeland that gives a small demo of what you can do in it - basically anything you can do in a normal oven. It's just such a lot of money.
I am not sure if a micro/combi thing would be better, though we do already have a microwave, it was just a cheapy one for reheating meals when DS was tiny, it doesn't even have a digital timer!0 -
