For me personally consolidating was the worst mistake I have ever made, I would never do it again. But then I know it works wonders for loads of people. I think if you consolidate you have to chop up and cancel the CCs or you run the risk of running them up again.

No probs at all, bear in mind my letter said typical apr15.9%, I got £10,500 over 66 months, £185 per month, got 11.1%.

My credit rateing is carp, the only credit card I could get now is Vanquis or Aqua (39% +), I got mine through Halifax, main bank account, funny bit is have a bank charges claim with them. I had the offer from the bank it was pre-approved so they didnot have to do credit check.

If you can get 0% and do card swop go for that, the next best offer is lock in for lifetime of balance, they are usually 6%,think Barclays do them.

The better the credit rateing the better the deal you can pick. xx

I did a consolodation yrs ago (when was working full time child free days), think it was OD and 2 cards, but I failed miserably, the main problem was I went from 14k a yr (back in 2001) to ssp of £250 a month then smp of £300, and used cards to survive on. As I have said on my thread have had 2 lightbulb moments b4 but the lightbulb went out just as quick, but this last one, I guess I put the frightners on myself and am doing everything I can, intend to cut up cards, just keep 2 cheaper ones, but intend to either overpay the loan or put the money up till I get a settlement figure, I've been in debt for most of being 30s, I've got 2 yrs till I'm 40, wont be debt free, but dont want to keep robbing Peter to pay Paul so this time the switch WILL NOT GO OUT. (She says with abaited breath)x

Mum2one - That is a much better rate, well done you!! I doubt I would even get a consolidation loan now to be honest as my credit rating is so pants.

My aim is to pay off my debts and then be clean (ha ha seret money drug abuse!!) for at least a year and then look to move and get a new mortgage. The schools in our catchment area are far from desirable (the nearest has 40 different languages:eek:) ideally I would like to move to a more modern house in a nearby village so Pip can go to a nice little school. There thats my grand plan and now its on "paper" I have to do it!!

Yes I did the consolidation thing too and then ran up the ccs again. If you can be really good and ensure you cut them up it is a better plan but you need to be more disciplined than me.

Well done Pipsmum on your payments, you are showing us up! I made £100 off a credit card today with money made on Ebay:T. Thanks for the link to Pinecone, I am now signed up, hurray. Just waiting for the surveys to start now.

Been really busy on Ebay last few days and sold 9 items, getting fed up of the listing now, hate it hate it, even though I know it will be worth it. I hate the wrapping and posting even more.

Thanks everybody, I love reading the thread and some great tips. :j

    Evening all

Phew I am soooooooo tired today as Pip has been very grumpy for last couple of nights.

Well done on the £100 Ebay money Spendstoomuch :T Ive got 20 items finishing tomorrow and another 20 finishing on Sunday. The total selling for the minute is
£46 but hope it will go up a bit tomorrow.

Went to MrMs and used my £5 off voucher I got 41 items for £28 :T I stocked up on Kitchen rolls, loo rolls, Tinned beans, tinned toms and frozen mince. Got another voucher for next week so I will stock up on frozen chicken and probably some more tinned stuf and maybe cleaning stuff too. I want to get it so when my money is pants I will only need to spend maybe a fiver a week tops on fresh stuff.

Made my first batch of Twinks Hobnobs and darn their oaty tastyness!!:rotfl::rotfl: They are YUM!!!

Tomorrow is going to be a long day as we are sorting the flat to get it ready for sale/rental need to paint 2 rooms, clean 5 rooms, clean 2 carpets and move a load of stuff out.

Need to buy Pip a new car seat but oh man thats a whole confusing and expensive world!!

  • Hey hun, i got ds2 a car seat from argos, it was £50 and made by nanio (i think) and was one of the cheapest i found. it's red and black and has a padded insert which makes it look like a sporty seat and keeps him snug in the seat till he's bigger.

Sorry to hear pip is grumpy, is he teething??? ds2 has decided to sprout teeth left, right and centre!!!!

Very impressed with your 41 items for £28!!!!!:T just shows i can do better really, just need to stop shopping with my eyes!!!!

p.s, i guarentee you will be making another batch of twinks hob nobs in the next day or so...........:D

Early night then Pipsmum with all that you have planned for tomorrow! Will that make a big difference to you if you sell/rent the flat?

I am going to Twinlakes in Leicester with my kids and sister and nephew. Its £10 each to go but will keep them quiet all day, will spend no other money when there as have bought the food and drinks to take with us. Dont suppose my sister will go halves on the petrol, she never offers!

Bet your ebay will go up loads tomorrow, the bids seem to really go up on the last day. I have listed some more stuff but I find it really hard to get motivated.

Car seats are expensive but some ridiculously so and they all do the same thing. My youngest is five now so on a booster seat, thank god.

Have you got the recipe for hobnobs, they sound lovely and would be good for the kids lunch box.

What is MrMs? I have shopped at Morrisons tonight with my £5 sun voucher. Still spent £100 but thats not bad for me, family of five, three boys and hubby (hungry boys as well).

    Have a good weekend all.
