Can everybody keep their fingers crossed please! It looks at the minute as if the car will be back on the road for £80. He has had a look and said he cannot 100% guarantee (as he doesnt do them) but it looks as if it would pass its MOT with advisorys. He took it to a friends garage around the corner and they did a precursory MOT for me!

I just got OHs Valentines day present. 5 issues of Top gear Magazine for £5. After the 5th mag I can cancel it and then I will have only paid the fiver.

Waiting for some money to clear into my account, panicking slightly as I still need to pay £200 rent, £80 car repair, £65 car tax and also food shops. It will be really, really tight but I think we may just manage.

    Hey all

Been working until 11 at night for the last couple of weeks, a little bit more money will be in my wage packet next month.

Work excelled themselves the other day by 'accidently' sending an email to us all telling us of our site closure and 400 job losses!
    http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5gtBmTLQy_izYwbu0xnPnuiCbfcFA?docId=N0282681295605081637A

We had the local news camped outside the building yelling at us for comments as we came in and left "how do you fee?" felt like yelling "how do you think I fudging well feel?" Work maintains it was merely a proposal and nothing guaranteed so we shall see!

Not much debt busting going on still, more like surviving!

Got car back and she did indeed cost £80, MOT next week so fingers crossed. My Nan kindly paid for my tax disc for 6 months for helping her since my Grandad passed away.

Well off to meal plan for Feb, will post later on.

    Have a good evening all x x

sorry to hear all the stuff that's going on at work for you Pip. We've got job cuts going on at work as well and it's just horrible. Glad your car was sorted out for so little, fingers crossed for it's MOT, hope that goes well as well.
Love the cake, i saw that baking program as well, and have kept the brownie recipe she did last week, i've never been able to achieve nice brownies but i hope i can get them from that recipe.

LT - I made the Brownies and the flapjacks and they were delicious. Hope they turn out for you. I like that programme do you? She is far too thin and pretty though!

OH got paid yesterday so we topped up the gas and electric meters, need to be really careful with lights and stuff as we seemed to be permanantly topping meter up in Jan.

Spent £45 in Mr Ms on week shop, more than I wanted but I guess its not too bad. Does everyone else find stuff has got a lot dearer? Week to wek things go up and Ive also noticed that a lot of the things that have stayed the same price have gotten smaller eg Mr Ms pop used to be 49p for 2litres and now you only get 1.5, cheeky!

    Xmas Saver!
Glad I'm not the only who thought that about groceries, same at Mr T, either smaller or shot up in price, the trouble is its the things that you need they do it on.
Like in 2days Sun, theres a bit advert about how cheap Mr T is compared to others, looking at the trolley, its not really everyday stuff, thats how they've got us.

Hope everything goes ok with work xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Hmmmmmmmm £20 to last until 15th, not going to happen is it!

MOT booked for Friday, very worried it will fail even though mechanic had a look over it.

Waiting for roofer to come and have a look and see why we have black mould around every edge of our ceiling, more money no doubt.

    Grumpy day :-(
