Our Samsung camera came with a USB lead and a plug that the USB cable plugged into - that formed the charger. Did you get a plug with a USB socket in the back?0

OP:
did you ask for refund AND to keep the item? Their response mentions compensation which kind of suggests you used the word when you emailed them. If the description was so grossly wrong, was there a reason why you din't notice it within 7 days and therefore be in time for the distance selling regs to kick in?
Crossley:
Why can't you return it? Royal mail will still be around after Christmas (assuming the credit crunch doesn't get them!) If it doesn't have the cable that you thought it had and needed then it isn't the camera for you. Return it (as they have told you to do!) and buy another one after christmas. What do you want compensation for?Good Enough Club member number 27(2) AND I got me a stalkee!

That particular model of camera runs on AA batteries so why would you need a 'power cable' anyway? What I DID see in the box is it is supplied with a set of non rechargable duracell ultras! Our Samsung camera came with a USB lead and a plug that the USB cable plugged into - that formed the charger. The description,
The Samsung S760 digital camera is compatible with SD memory cards, and comes complete with power cable, CD and manual.
I wanted a camera with a power cable which you can plug in and charge the camera rather than replace batteries every time. This is what i have on my current camera
It took them 7 days to reply to the email i sent asking why it did not have a power cable, I am peed off with ebuyer because i dont feel it is fair to describe an item as having something when it does not.0 -

But you said they told you to return it. I'd say they are honouring a refund ....Good Enough Club member number 27(2) AND I got me a stalkee!

No because it takes normal batteries,
In the manual it says you can buy a special battery and power cable but these are optional extras. Not included as stated in their description

My bad so it does.
Even so its not supplied with rechargeables so it would seem silly to supply a mains lead as no doubt someone would try to recharge them!
I personally don't like charging them of my camera as it ties it up.
I have a separate charger and have 2 on charge while the other 2 are in use and I can just do a straight swap over then when there flat rather then having to plug my camera in and wait for it to charge.
At the end of the day it will proberly be cheaper for you to get a lead then pay the postage cost to send it back.0 -
I cant see it saying it comes with a power cable anywhere.
I did see this thlough.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p

Just an update on the original subject.
I found this information in Martin's weekly email from 10th December:
"RIGHT 3. Your rights are with the retailer. If goods are faulty legally your agreement is with the retailer NOT the manufacturer. If the shop says you must go to the manufacturer, it's wrong. "
I have contacted the seller with this evidence and am currently awaiting a response. I will post any further news as and when I receive it.0
