I agree what an absoulute shambles 'Travelodge' is. They probably have no choice than to offer the £9 rooms, as who of sane mind would book with them otherwise. I am wanting after booking service, prior to my stay.
The customer service is diabolical and as for 'Contacting them' you are wasting your time. I am now three first class stamps down, four unanswered EMails and numerous telephone calls later. I will however have my day. When I arrive for my stay everybody will know!!!!!0 -
Our experience has been the complete opposite!!
We stayed at the Tower Bridge London Travelodge on Sunday night for £29. Our room was clean, quiet and warm. Check-in staff friendly and efficient. Had a fab time in London and will re-book if another cheapie deal comes up.0 -
I can honestly say that I've never had a "bad" stay at a Travelodge, although I would not feel happy paying the standard rates of £50-£100 prpn for that standard of accommodation. Every time I've stayed the accommodation has been clean and comfortable and the staff pleasant - ok the d!cor might be a little dated and the TV only have four channels, but for £9, £10, £15 or even £30 prpn it's an absolute bargain. My favourite was Edinburgh Central which I got for £10 prpn about three years ago but I've never been disappointed with any of the "Central" Travelodges before, even Birmingham Central!#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

Thanks for the views everyone, good and bad.
I will be writing to Travelodge to complain. I have emailed them asking for their disability policy and policy on visually impaired guests with guide dogs. I will await their response (assuming they will say guide dogs are welcome) and then write quoting them and complaining about Travelodge Birmingham.
Can you imagine a hotel keeping a special file where they log the details of Asian guests, or people over aged 65, or female guests !!! Yet the Asian guy managing the hotel is keeping a log of all disabled guests - for what purpose !?! Its very weird.0 -

Hi - Im another travelodge fan - in the sales, that is.
we have been to a couple of centrals as well as those beside a roads. Bath is great - off to Ludlow soon, then Kew, all for £9 for the whole family.
We dont go to the little chef or book breakfasts, but use pubs for dinner and take our own breakfast.
We dont book disabled rooms - My middle child is severly disabled and a wheelchair user. I have never given anyone information about him being disabled, and it has never been a problem
The decor can be a bit old, and we often have to ask for extra blankets in the winter, but the staff are always great, and the children love 'indoor camping' and exploring a new area!0 -
Another Travelodge fan here. You get good and bad experiences of everything in this life. I would not let one experience put you off.
You are correct about their Disabled policy though. I had a look through their website and can find nothing anywhere about guide dogs, only pets.0 -
I have had excellent and an absolutely diabologal experience at a certain travelodge on a motorway services, we last stayed half term), my and dd rm was clean, bit scruffy, but its not a lodge thats been done up. Unfortunatley my parents rm could be classed as the same...........
I am not joking...........
Toe nail clippings in the bed
Dirty brown marks on the quilt cover, (at first thought it was dd as she was eating an icecream)..........parents thought, its on top of bed must be a stain that didnt come out.
When they got into bed, the lower side of the quilt cover was dirty, again they gave it the benefit of the doubt, next morning on closer inspection,. and in the light, they noticed more dark spots, so took the quilt cover off to investage, the quilt was blood red, 90% dried, but still some fresh........they were heaving........this was a quilt that had been changed, and a room that was suppose to be clean.
I have to say after logging the complaint with reception, as a good will gesture they not only refunded my parents 1 ngt stay, but my 2 ngts as well.
I would say the other Travelodge we use at Exeter Services is absolutley brilliant, I could not rate that high enough, the cleanliness, the staff were really friendly, felt like u were walking into a 4 star hotel.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
