mewbie wrote:There's one next week on Dave+. It's called Repo Up My Area and features a new media couple - Krusty Broderick and Dithering Beeny. First one they visit is a hermit (ed: short for hermaphrodite?) called StevieJ who having lost all his money is now set on building a house out of porridge.I'll watch it an hour later on Dave +1.
Or two hours later on Dave +2.
I found out today that Dave +1 has renamed itself... 'Dave ja vu'.
I'm in awe of that type of wit and cleverness. Seriously I am. Jaw-droppingly good.0 -
I hate it when my old posts resurface. What was I thinking?mewbie wrote:Hi folks. I'm new on this board and was wondering if anyone could advise me on the advantages of getting what I believe is referred to as a 'Buy to Let' property? Our house has gone up in value by 190% since we bought it and we've recently remortgaged to take some equity out.
We've been on holiday, treated ourselves to a 4x4 (Mrs Mewbie has always wanted one) and are looking to plough the remaining £10,000 as a deposit in to a new build flat in an 'urban lifestyle development' around the corner from us.
Any advice from people here? I consider myself quite bullish when it comes to proerty and, whilst I don't know anything about this type of thing, we all know I can't really lose.
Dug that little beauty up from one of your first posts here. Yup. I did. Honestly.0 -

Does anyone understand why Dave is the "Home of witty banter". I have yet to locate any banter, let alone witty banter.
Also, there is a mistery, why has "UKTV History" turned into "Yesterday". I keep on getting confused at why the antique roadshow is going to be on yesterday at 5 o'clock.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Actually I'm quite proud of that one. Could be one of yours almost, if you had been born under the bear star.Dug that little beauty up from one of your first posts here. Yup. I did. Honestly.
edit:
You b@stard, I've just realised. It is one of yours!!! I thought / hoped it was me being ironic, on a wind up.0 -
I've also realised that my StevieJ porridge post got six thankyous, two from my own aliases, one unidentified sock puppet, and my mum.0

No. Homes Under The Hammer is a programme on BBC1 where fallen 80's rapper MC Hammer casts his view on the decor, layout and soft furnishings of Britain's homes.
He's leaving at the end of this series though and is due to be replaced by Jan Hammer (of Miami Vice and Crockett's Theme fame).
I've just re-visited this classic. Ahhh, great days. And it was thanked by Neverdespairgirl. A more innocent and golden age, I think we all agree.
I'm thinking of having a best of Cleaver thread this weekend, what do you all think? A classic compilation that should cause laughs, tears and golden moments. I might see if I can get NDG back to thank some of them.
Ahh, the memories...0 -
Please Cleaver I beg you - don't go back and find my worst ones. There are some, quite a lot really that are best left to rot.
Let's move forward instead with the very latest in cutting edge comedy.
Sock puppets anyone?0 -

Must admit you are one of my favourite posters cleaver. I often find that when members start to reminisce it can mean they are thinking of leaving, i hope this is not the case.

Oh dear. At least it's less 'in your face' than the last one. I'm slightly concerned about your choice of 'late night Jacqui Smith' material Mr. B.
Edit: Now how do I scroll back up? Quickly is the answer.0
