RevSteve wrote:Last year they operated a "clearing" site for spaces still available in the system after all applications had been processed. It covered any date and location still available not just the ones you had put down on your form. This means that if you're not successful with your original combinations of dates/locations you should get a second bite at the cherry.
Hopefully they will do the same again this time.
How do you get on to this "clearing site" is it internet based or do you need to contact them? Also if you have already booked would you be able to change dates and locations?
We had a priority claim form but havent sent it off yet. Cant decide best location or dates. We really wanted Butlins at one of their special weekends but although we've done these for some years we never seem to get 1st choice on both date and location. Are there any tips for next time perhaps?
Thanks in advance0 -
I'd imagine the clearing website won't appear until they have actually allocated the holidays. Also going by the 20 things you should know, changing dates and locations doesn'tt look possible, but if you found something you preferred nothing stopping you booking the new one and going on that instead, you just lose your initial money on first booking0

It is a few years since we went on one of these. Can anybody who has done one recently tell me how long they normally take to reply to the application?
One of the dates we have put on the form is for February half term, and if we are not going away with the Sun, we would like to make other arangements.[size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.

The Wild Duck site near Great Yarmouth is in the quiet countryside. You could also try Hemsby out of season as it is a quiet seaside village in the winter.Charlie1986 wrote:Can anybody recommend somewhere to book that is in the middle of nowhere with lots of peace and quiet

Sometimes it only takes a couple of weeks and other times a couple of months. But you will know in good time for the holiday.RightRevBod wrote:It is a few years since we went on one of these. Can anybody who has done one recently tell me how long they normally take to reply to the application?

I asume from this that you got a priority booking form. The rest of us plebs had to provide our own envelopes
and I did not draw a box on the back. [size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.
