Need Static IP

I need a static ip address and am having problems finding a provider.

I am currently on BT Business and my 2 years contract comes to an end in Jan. I have asked if I can have a static ip and move to their full house package but the answer has been a resounding "NO".

Being a bit technical I know that keeping me on a static ip is not that difficult.

Does anyone have any suggestions on who provides static ip addresses or how i can get change my dynamic address to a static one?


I need one because i upload and download to secure servers for websites and need that extra security.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.

    We are with Plusnet and have had static ip with them for the last few years. UK callcentre as well.

    I just had a look and on the 02 pro package you can have static IP for free

    Tried o2 cant get that package, only the one that doesnt allow static ips.

    Plusnet yes i can get it, but allowance is low and i will be paying a fortune for it.

    Ironically i have just had a look at UK online who is part of Sky, who offer a static ip. Where as sky doesnt!!!!!!!!

    They want to charge me £49.99 for a router of which i have 8 lying around my house and dont wish for another.

    Think its not going to work out this time. :(

    Entanet do static IPs as standard, either single or a block of 8 on rolling 1 month contracts, but they are just about to change their peak/offpeak hours (peak to be 8am-12 midnight 7 days a week) if this still suits you then contact a reseller such as Vivaciti (which I use), ADSL24 or UKFSN.
    They will not try to flog (or even give) you a router.. :)

    A friend of mine with his own IT business uses http://www.eclipse.net.uk/ where you can have a static IP address.
    My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.

    why are you 'stuck'? you've been offered several ISPs giving static IP addresses, where's the struggle?
