But errors in a digital signal are just that: errors. If there were errors in your QED cable, it would have been immediately apparent when you plugged it in. The picture would not have blown you away.

All I will say is that one's eyes are notoriously easily fooled.

WHY would it be immediately apparant? ~ thats wrong actually. I saw a link just yesterday whereby the guys equipment showed a TON of errors, but the picture looked 'fine' (no 'snow' or anything). So if it MEASURED that it had errors, then clearly the colours wernt quite right or whatever, but critically the picture didnt 'fail' like what all the 'none believers' think it would.
It was immediately apparant to me that the chord is the better hdmi cable in MY setup.

Take a CD. Take your car keys. Spend 5 minutes scratching the CD. Put it in your CD player. Press play.

That's what a digital error is like.

Lets stick to hdmi errors for now mate :p
The fact is ~ they DO have errors in. But they dont just FAIL. So THAT means that they produce some errors onscreen (wrong colour, less sharp overall etc)
So that would indicate to me that the better quality hdmi leads that have LESS errors over a given length and bandwidth WILL produce a better quality picture
Is there anything wrong with my thoughts on this?

(ps, if i stick a knife to a dvd it would simply skip, thats not a slight error, thats a complete destruction of 'required' information to work)

I run several different eqiupment depending on my mood lol.
I've my own std1 with a forrest stage filter, a Meridian cd player the old 206, a rather large Musical Fidelity A370.2, another MF preamp which I think is a 50, a dnm early protoype preamp from Dennis and a friend has my moth squad passive preamp and a pair of MF amps.
I use heywire speaker cable and van de hul interconnects or dnm's cables with his preamp.
The speakers are twin transmission line, different to the ones we showed. I'm just replacing the front grille filters which have seen better days so the drivers are open. They are a kef low unit modified and weighted, an atc mid and 2 tdl ( imf) high units based in a seperate unit.
Transmission line speakers are lovely and produce the low notes at low volumes. I have just an on button on amp and preamp and left and right volume control.
Not bad as its now 13 years old and I've never thought about replacing any of it but maybe the cd player is a bit outdated but I could connect a Meridian dac.
We got hammered as we did something with our filter that was not done before with filters and we used a lovely mid driver as a pair on each side and were able to manipulate the filter and phases to each mid unit. The sound expanded beyound and out and not in like many. The dolby lads liked it and Tannoy were very friendly but the supplier of the mids who build their own speakers were funny about what we did and they stopped supplying us. Their mids were great and their construction was a real benifit. We had to go through a back door if we wanted more but just shows how funny some are. Ken Kessler reviewed them in Q for us, just a small bit but it was nice to see our hard work in black and white.
Like you I just enjoyed music and it led on but in a way all the hassle I had from manufacturing meant I lost enjoyment and so after around 7 years I called it the day. It was enjoyment that made it worth the effort and when I lost it I knew it was time to stop.

It would require something pretty significant to cause the error correction to fail, wouldn't it?
