I haven't bothered selling on eBay for a long time, I prefer to use Amazon Marketplace, Play Trade or occasionally CEX to get rid of my stuff...so much less hassle than eVilBay

  • Thanks guys. You're all right. Feel better, will have a break for a few months then think of starting up again. Postman just been with a jacket that has been lost in post for a few weeks - zip broken! lol
  • on play recently we had a buyer leave us negative feedback, turns out in the xmas rush we sent out the expansion pack of the game and not the actual game.

but rather than contact us, he left us feedback. this ended with the comment "how do i contact the ppl who sent this ???"

(the bit that says "Contact Seller", perhaps ??)

we have sent emails apologising for our mistake and it seems he is one of many people this xmas buying online but not actually ever checking their email.

luckily the feedback itself sums the bloke up, but it still counts against our %.

reg ebay tho. we just sold a ps3, and the winning bidder couldn't have been friendlier (oops, put "friendly" at first !). so it does still happen !
    :grouphug:

no wonder he has a smile on his face...

As a buyer I always look at feedback and one or two negs never puts me off if they generally receive good feedback. If anything as a seller myself I feel sorry for people who have had unreasonable feedback and try and give extra nice feedback to make up for it. Ebay can be a pain but it is the easiest way of selling your stuff and in my experience the nice ebayers far make up for the one or two tw**s you get, and these generally dissapear after the xmas rush.
  • Thanks vangirl. Yes I have just checked my feedback and I have had 2 lovely comments left, which has made up for the neg. I have also sold a BIN this afternoon, regardless of neg so I am feeling a bit more positive. May explore other sites in the new year though.
  • Dont forget to block them as a buyer on your listings - so they cant do it again !

Maybe the negative's a good thing and will stop you getting stressed over little things in the future and trying to keep a 100% feedback.

Just put things into perspective you've over 700 positives so 1 neg isn't going to put people off. Just play the game and respond to the feedback saying "goods were perfectly fine when sent" "would have offered refund if seller contacted before feedback" or whatever. There are plenty of jerks out there she probably negged just cos she'd seen it cheaper on another auction.

It'll soon disappear from the screen and not many buyers expect a full 100% on 700+ items and rarely go to the hassle of searching through all neg feedback

True. Most people have had that 1 or two difficult person(s) who have left negative feedback just because they like the drama. I wouldn't stress about it. 700 +s - you're in the good!

    Rule 1 of eBay Selling:

Some buyers are ******* nuts and there's nothing you can do about it

It must be the silly season - in the last week, I have had to do my first ever non-payment strike (buyer then paid as soon as claim lodged) and first non-receipt claim for nearly 2 years (seller then miraculously remembered how to communicate, although it has still not arrived).

Not sure if this time of year attracts the nutters or if everyone is so busy that eBay is not necessarily the most important thing in their lives, but if you don't have time to pay / post then you shouldn't have time to bid / list.

You'll also find alot of the scammers will target the 100% ers because they get so attached to the 100% tag they'll bend over backwards to keep it
