  • We have 2 service providers. One being virgin media 20 meg and O2 which comes out at 8meg. had no end of problems with virgin and dire speeds wheras O2 brilliant. No billing problems, up and running in a matter of days, no payment problems and strangely enough we actually get a faster speed on O2 than Virgin Media. We have changed the free wireless router for a different one as the free one couldn't switch between the two if it was needed. We are considering getting rid of VM and taking ut another O2 with a second line. Before I forget O2 have no traffic shaping either so it is consistent. I'm sure someone else would probably have a totally opposite opinion to myself and there are always two faces of a coin. No one or thing is ever perfect:)
Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p

    Hey..

Although I work for o2 please don't take this as being biased BUT

the service is absolutely amazing, so easy to set up.
the call centre is in Glasgow
it is free to call the call centre
the poor broadband guys are in much later than mobile (11pm I think?) so there when most people need them.
discount for even having a PAYG

    HTH

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.

I have to agree that the callcentre and the assistance is fab

    but

we have had a problem since we changed to O2 about 5 months ago with the connection dropping (averages about 15 times per day) the router just loses all its lights (2nd router)
Got to the stage where I can not longer work at home so have to travel into an office. Have had numerous 24 hour scans done but we are still not quite there. Have done a lift and shift at the exchange but no difference and next option is BT to come out (although with our previous supplier we never experienced any dropping) We have had 2 cases open with 2nd level - will be giving it another couple of weeks and then will have to try and move elsewhere as the daily travelling is costing me a bomb!

My father on the other hand moved to O2 from the same provider we previously used and he had experienced drops with them and since the move to O2 his has stayed connected.

I am just glad the support guys are so friendly (and in this country)
I think we may be an exception - we moved to O2 on the back of reviews and recommendations

i concur with everyone above. shifted to o2 in november 26mb servicve and consistent speeds over 10mb which brilliant. had virgin 10 mb and before and got lousy speeds, traffic shaping and bad attitude. go for o2

i've just signed up for O2
they asked me my mobile number and have texted me 8 times keeping me right up to date with everything. i've had the router sent to me and now just waiting for the text to say i am activated. date they say its going to happen is 22nd dec:D
    so up to now excellent:j
  • Just to add I've moved over to O2 from Tiscali, they are far cheaper for a faster service and I am very impressed

If you have a Prepay phone and top up £10 every three months (I think) then you get a c£5/ month discount

Also sign up through a cash back website to get a further discount - I have £60 tracking with Quidco, though the offer now is only £25
  • been with o2 BB since august, had to change supplier when sky cocked up our house move.

have to say it was a blessing in disguise. sooo easy to set up and they kept me upto date with my order every step of the way.

great tech help, freephone number, in a nutshell great service all round!!!!:T

oh yeah got £25 through quidco as well :D
If your lucky enough to be irish, your lucky enough ;)

    @Caz3121 - try a different router?

@justpurple - do you know someone on o2 payg or contract - could ask them if you can use their number and get a discount (not sure if phone needs to be connected to the same address)

BTW: you get £5 discount for having an 02 number linked: Discount for Pay & Go customers subject to £10 minimum top-up every 3 months.

    So could get a payg sim - pay 4*£10 = £40
    and save 12*5 = £60

so saving of £20 plus get to make some calls on the phone - an option maybe?
