    Aw jeez - ive been TRYING to post the exact same deal just now but the site keeps bumping me.

    i can verify its true and starts at 7.30am tommorrow. It will be down to £1 for anything thats current in the 2for£8 range and £2-£4 for anything in the 2for16gbp range. Essentially the items on http://direct.asda.com/asda-fragranc...efault,sc.html .

    XXXXThis is IN STORE onlyXXXXX

    Story is thus : my wife went to a WI promotion that ASDA ran today - showcasing its "extra special" range of christmas goodies by way of a chef prepared lunch. The manage running the show said that all the giftware (thats cosmetic gift packs, toy packs and the like) are going on sale cheap as tommorrow at 7.30AM and traditional sell out the shelves by 11 or 12AM the same day. So you need to be in early.

    All asda stores are included.
    Some good stuff in there - for example, the gift packs for nivea or HSM take down the prices to way below individual items so its worth it for stocking fillers or just cosmetics supplies.

    good luck. Wont know how good the sale is until tommorrow morning tho!

    cont;

    Thanks skeeter, it is very true on everything apart from alcohol gift packs. To the person who wants proof . . what do you want me 2 do? record the meeting in the morning? and this is only instore, i know it isnt just my store because the pos and price changes are sent from asda house rather than us reducing them on the system

    quote;
    ok-just called my manager at my store and this is absolutely true! we didnt get a morning meeting today cos we were chocca busy but credit to the poster-this is for real-voted hot!

    and asda employees can still use their discount card too-lol!

    Further quote;
    Op do you know if it includes fragrance giftsets? Thanks

    Answer was "no"

    so things which are currenlty a fiver will be a pound? Is that right? If so - hot

    What about the things whcih are in the 2 for £16 or £10 each?

    Reply was:

    basically the website is wrong atm, its just a simple 80% off (i believe)
    and once stock is gone . . its gone, my store is an ok size but apart from what we have out already we only have another 5 cages worth . . not alot at those prices.

    Quote;
    Will they be marked on the shelf at a pound or will it be deducted at the till? Knowing my luck id put the wrong things in my basket and end up paying a small fortune..lol.

    ReplY;
    Well i think its just going to be sale signs and then the price will be right at the till, this could get frustrating so check your receipts guys!! in my store we seee no reason for changing the labels as stock wont be there long!

    Another quote - I dont know if 5am is ok for 24 hr stores;

    even if your local store hasnt done the label changes they will still scan through the till at the reduction-the whole system updates at 5am so anything you arent sure about just get it scanned to see-our store only has 2 people doing price changes for the whole store so it can be late afternoon before they get from one end of the store to another.

    Another quote;

    have spoken to my manager(home and leisure manager) and he confirms it-there is ABSOLUTELY no doubt this is for real.if you go this evening there will be nothing to see-no labels will get changed til the morning.

    just look at the website link,print off al the stuff listed at one pound and anytime after 5am that is the price they will scan at-the entire asda system updates the barcode price at 5am in every store

    Another quote;

    thanks to the op for posting this.
    one q though - i take it things like the Lynx/Gilette toiletries sets arent included?! its just they're shown as being full price on the website and not marked to a pound like the other bits and pieces. But i know instore they are included in the 2 for 16 pounds promo.

    they are not included im afraid! nor is alcohol gift sets

    so no impulse/ lynx/dove sets?

    Fraid not

    WAIT!!! Don't go rushing down to Asda in the morning as it's ONLY home and leisure gifts that are reduced, i.e. the tat that's been overordered. Straight from the horses mouth, i.e. an Asda Manager.

    So, no perfume, alcoholic gifts etc.

    From Andrew-
    The Birdsong Clock will be £2, it's at least £20 at most other shops including Amazon.
  • I find Asda attracts a certain type of clientele so it will be interesting to see those who never do a days work leave the house before 12pm and those on long term sick with back ache (try standing love) punching their way to the front of the queue.

    I've read this before on here, but I'm really puzzled as to what it means:confused:

    I've seen it referred to as Chavda:confused:

    As far as I can see it is very similar to Tesco & Morrisons.

    put it this way, a lot of people wear tracksuit bottoms and don't appear to have washed since their reduced soap gift set ran out last year
