If hubby could 'rush' outside, what's he doing with a blue badge? (only joking!)
I've had two good experiences with traffic wardens recently - I'd parked in a disabled bay at Morecambe market and forgotten to display my badge. As soon as I realised, I got back to the car as quickly as I'm able, to find the warden with pen poised. He explained that he could see I had the leather pouch you can get for badges and had been asking round at the stalls to see if anyone knew whose car it was and was about to book me as he had no alternative. I showed him my badge and he was fine.
A few weeks later, my mum parked nearby, with her partner in his car. She'd forgotten her blue badge so they paid for an hour. When they came back, they realised they were 7 minutes over time and the warden (not the same one) was hovering. He explained that the rules said that if you don't have a ticket, he must wait 10 mins to see if you come back with one, but if you have one, you only get 5 mins over time. He said that he thought that was unfair, so he gave everyone 10 minutes to get back!
Mind you, looking at the complaints in the local paper about wardens, I think we found the only decent two in Morecambe!0 -
My mum recently bought a ticket in Northampton and was returning to her car thinking she had another 5 minutes or so to go, upon getting there there was a warden who had just issued the ticket. She started pleading saying she was only a few minutes late and he turned round and pointed out the ticket ran out 50 minutes ago!!! He said he could she was being genuine though and it could be that the machine rejected her 50p(tacky machines). He explained he couldn't take it back because it had been issued but that if she appealed and he gave a note explaining what had happened then she stood a chance of winning the appeal and he wrote a note in his book there and then. We'll have to wait and see if that helped though![FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

I was nearly issued a ticket in Windsor behind Browns restaurant when I went to buy my ticket the queue was so long that the wardens were walking around clearly looking for cars they could stick fines onto.....I saw him from a distance and had to leave the queue to go and tell him, I was still queueing for a ticket....and then rejoin at the back.....grrrrr0

I got a ticket in Glasgow for parking in a pay and display area I didnt realise it was before 6 (silly me!)
It was my own stupidity.
However I checked my ticket and it had no actual charge on it it said
"You must pay £ . in 14 days or the fine will go to £ . if you do not I appealled saying how can I pay a ticket that has no price so if I sent A cheque in for £0.00 it would be ok?
I didnt have to pay ha ha 1-0 to the people!
oh and I will check the time next time I park lessor learnt!Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
i fell over in aylesbury when out looking for houses lol a parking warden was one of the first to come over and offer assistance. my ankle was so swollen that i had to go to hospital (turns out it was broken ) he asked if i had a car and were it was parked. told him the multi storey he took my reg down and went up to the car put a note on it saying what had happened and also his badge number and my other half picked the car up some hours later and no ticket.. i wrote to the council saying thanks and mabey that is why we have picked aylesbury to live in ..Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0
