i have £70 in my phone will they need to refund this amount0 -
On the up side you can get free "o2 online" sims (usually through this forum) which give you 100 any time and network mins and 100 free texts + what ever you top up per month, which works out really cheap.[/QUOTE]
The free online PAYG O2 sim ive got gives me 300 free texts a month if i top up by £10 OR 150 free minutes and 300 free texts if i top up by £15 and my Orange free online PAYG sim gives me 300 free texts if i top up by £10, 600 texts for £20 or 1000 free texts if i top up by £30 and ALL give me 600 free off peak minutes to other orange phones ,i find it cheap as i still have the £10,£20 or £30 ive topped up by to spend on calls and i usually spend that on the extras orange do (150 texts to use in a week for £5 for example, thats works out at 3p a text)0 -
I phoned O2 and apparently the sim in my mum's Philips U phone is not the one they are discontinuing. Customer services were very helpful.Northernlights0

Customer service told me that my phone will be switched off because it has one of the old fashioned large sim cards... but it hasn't. The sim card is the same size as a new phone! I suspect a trick to try to get me to buy a new phone and transfer my number.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0

All SIM cards are the old fashioned large SIMs but modern phones and a lot of the U phones only require part of it (circled in red in the picture below). Whenever you buy a new SIM it comes as the big size and you push the smaller bit out and use it.
Some old ones (in the bigger phones) haven't got the push out bit but you can get it cut out in most phone shops.0 -

gosh im so confused now - will my phone be swutched off or not? surely they can transfer the service by giving us another sim with the same deal. i reckon if we want this we must act quick my writing to the people who deal with phones oftcom? any ideas? also by everyone emailing/writing/phoning head office. Surely they cannot take our money away either that we have in the phones.

I went to O2 shop today + they gave me replacement SIM for free.
A call to customer services was then made to request transfer of old number to new SIM. This must be done by Friday.
I keep the free best friend tarriff too, and remaining credit.
The new SIM works in my Philips C12, but according to O2 website, not all of them do.0 -
Well, my phone is still working. My husband's is too. How about yours?Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0

Yes, ours are still working.
I expect they'll either be killed when the weekday staff get back in on Monday, or if they were clever, you wouldn't be able to top it up anymore so it would run until your credit ran out.0
