we have been contacted by O2 to say that our sim card will no longer be supported from MAY 2006. and they will be sending us a Nokia 1100 as a replacement.
How did they offer you a replacement? I e-mailed asking what they intended to do but they said I had to phone customer services.0 -
Tritanium0, is the system being switched off on 31st May 2006 or AFTER 31st May 2006 (as my message states)? If it's AFTER do you know when?
Thank you.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0 -

would they give me my money back in a cheque for the amount on my phone?0 -
The "BRITE" System is a PAYG application that actually runs on the Handset/SIM. Most PAYG systems now use Intelligent Network (IN) applications which reside within the network switching/signalling architecture. O2 have been talking about stopping the service for years.0

I got a text message yesterday from O2 saying that my phone would stop working on 30th June. So, it looks like we have been granted an extra month.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0

My text says 30th June. So has anyone got details of what O2 are offering ? As well as my phone, I have spare batteries, 2 chargers, car charger + hands free, none of which would work with a new handset.0

They have offered me £5 off a new handset and say I can keep my old number. I think I'll keep topping up for as long as they keep extending the deadline, then I'll go with another provider.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0

So what tariff are they offering on the new handset ?0

My mum has one of these phones (just for emergences), and she hasn't been contacted. If the sim stops working end May/June what happens to any credit you have left on your sim card?Northernlights0
