Just wondering what the best method of complaint would be with regard to my problem.
On 28/12/05 i ordered a replacement card as mine was damaged.I was told my card would be defunct after 6 days and that the card would be with me within 4-7 days. I ensured i had the funds on me to last at least a day or two should the card not be delivered.
I am STILL awaiting my card through the post and my original card has been defunct since last saturday.I called Abbey up on tuesday and was 'ensured' it would be with me by friday at the latest. Not through the post today and im supposed to be going out tonight with my mates, doesnt help with my family already away to spain for 10 days.
Anyone have suggestions as to what I should do to complain as this really is horrendous...No access to funds and no parents or sister to scrounge from.

The first thing to do would be to write to them telling them to debit your account with £32 for their mistake.
Can you not go to a branch and draw the money out over the counter in the interim?0 -
work 9-5 and there aint an abbey within 3 or 4 miles and im currently at work till 12 so no chance of today.
Why £32?0 -
Because that's what they charge their customers for mistakes.
A contract should work both ways and they have left you with no means of getting to your own cash - you should be within your rights to demand compensation in the same way that they do.0 -

Ooops - quite right.
(I only ever seem to get people debiting my account - I must have it on the brain!)0 -
I am not abbey's greatest fan but when I needed a replacement card it was in my hands within four days of me ringing them. I think you should be looking at your local postal system as well. This may not actually be abbey's fault.0

Finally found out what happened, the first two people i spoke to promised it would be with me yesterday at the latest at my home address....I called up again today to be told that it was delivered to my supposed 'local' branch in glasgow which also happens to be 35 miles away from where I am.
Was told it would be delivered to my house but instead they delivered it to the branch and cannot send it to my house now for 'security' reasons so it is getting delivered to a branch 3 miles from me which i will struggle to get to due to work hours plus it wont be there until tuesday at the earliest.
Looks like a night in the house with leftover beers from new year all thanks to my good reliable friends at The Abbey.0 -
Seriously, I would demand compensation like they do. You'd probably get it.0

Im writing a letter of complaint tonight but unsure of what content to put in.
Any suggestions as to what I should put in?0
