Now I understand the cyclist was between the bus and the path, but on the road. However, it still should not have been undertaking if the bus was signalling it was stopping (which I will assume it was until the Op tells me otherwise) and therefore the cyclist is at fault.

I still think no compensation should be claimed, but I do blame the cyclist for undertaking the bus when they should go round it.
