I know you can buy caesar salad dressing, I got a bottle of it in Co-op last summer. I think most lettuce varieties are available all year round in big supermarkets, it's the same as Cos, which is what I would use. I have lettuce leaves almost ready for eating growing outside here in Scotland. :D

thanks I would have used cos too. I have been asked to make it for a get together but it is something I have never made and after looking at a few recipes on the internet I know my lot will not eat it. We like our salads mostly "nakey" (wrote it like that so i don't get into trouble).

Dinner at your place sounds fun, if a little chilly at this time of year:D .

I've been quiet for a few days but am keeping up with the thread.
Thanks a lot SM for advice on freezing cream and cc.

Did monthly butchers shop this month and only spent £20 instead of 30 as both our mothers have supplied a) sausages & b) lamb steaks, in food parcels that should see us through the month:T .

Enjoying my week's leave. Had some precious time on my own with parents on Tuesday. Done some bulk cooking today and 2 mosaic classes yesterday(one was a free catch up for one I missed last month) How are the drawers coming along SM?
Loving the new family member Nyk.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

    Hi everyone,
I've not spent any money today...yay!!
I love your chick...I'd love love ducklings but DH says we have no room in our garden for water so I can't have any. He says he can make room for chickens!
I cooked up some chilli with leftover mince and then was planning to do a cottage pie thingy for tea but the stuff I got out of the freezer wouldn't have worked so the kinders have had chilli...I'll probably have some of the lamb stuff with mashed potato that I had already made up before I realised! I'll freeze the rest of everything into lunch size portions for DH to have.
Has anyone started veggie seeds yet? I'm not sure if its too early and cold?

Grandma, you are very clever in disguising your word 'nakey'. I am always getting into trouble for swearing and I don't even mean it.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Spent more than I meant to today, I was at DH's gran's funeral and afterwards ran my BIL and SIL home and they brought the wee one out. I've not seen him for ages, so gave him some pocket money, it ended up being £10 as I did not have any change.

Oh well, I don't see him that often so it is nice for him to have a wee treat I suppose.

the end of another working week tomorrow, the time just flies in.

I forgot, sophiesmum, I picked up my recorded delivery letter today and it wasn't my qype voucher, it was my diesel card for my car.

So , I haven't got mine yet either. i think I'll send them an email if I don't get it by next week.

    Good evening frunchkins,:D
Had a busy day today at work involving lots of running to recycle bins, household recycling centre and charity shop. Have taken a huge amount of stuff from the court which is being updated and replaced with new,we did have a skip but lots of the stuff could be recycled one way or another it just took a bit of effort. I was officeless today anyway as that is being redecced so I was happy to be busy doing the recycling runs, and charity shop was happy to receive 5 nests of tables, tv cupboard, mirrors, pictures, ornaments, lamps etc. Very satisfying:D
BB - drawers still waiting for next coat of paint - been too busy to fit it in:p will be on my list for the weekend I think.

Nyk - love the avatar picture. With those stripes he reminds me a bit of a gremlin - I would call him/her gizzmo looks like he could be a bit mischievous;)

SL - still no sign of my qype voucher yet:rolleyes: but I live in hope:D

On the frugal front I have had 4 no spend days so far this week:j

Nyk - Those pictures are uber-cute. And now that Sophiesmum has mentioned it, it does indeed look a bit like gizmo.

Nyk, that photo is sooo cute!

H2B and I had a trip out last night to collect a greenhouse from freecycle. It's one of the metal framed ones with a plastic cover and three shelves. It will be ideal for starting off all the veg seeds, so we are very happy with it! Just need the weather to warm up a little now, it's been quite frosty the last couple of mornings.

I'm off to Northern Ireland next week for work, I'm looking forward to the trip but I'm not looking forward to spending the week without H2B. It does mean that I can pick up my ex panda car from my Dad's house (flying out from near his house) on work expenses instead of spending my own money on petrol to get there... and it will be good to visit my Nan too, as she's still not fully well after her heart op over Christmas, and is still getting chest pains.

Aw nyk your chicks are sooo cute.
Well done lingo on reciving your cheque:T

I'm doing v well this month so far. I still have £10 of my weekly budget left, i should only need to buy sugar and kidney beans out of this - why do i always manage to forget something when i'm shopping?, i even did it online and treble checked my list:rolleyes:
Had a freebie lunch yesterday, found £20 of leisure vouchers in a draw so treated me, OH and little un to lunch. Even better it only came to £14odd and they gave us cash as change. I was expecting to have to pay the £4odd in cash so that was a bonus:D.
I have 1 more dd left to come out this month and my bank balance is looking better than ever, i'm sooo chuffed. I'll hopfully be able to put a bit extra away to go towards my savings for our car. Only £390 left to save now;)
