Just catching up for the night whilst watching Victorian Farm programme :)

    Well done Marru!

Bails - new house, new dog, what's the saying? No, not that one! :rotfl: If it's any consolation, I would cave in and get the dog :o so my answer is a yes as well, BUT (<- I always have a big but! :rotfl: ) I'm not going to India - what would you do with pooch for the 6 months you're away? That would be my only concern.

Anyone worrying about their spending being over, we're almost at the end of month one. My spends to date have been really high, so I'll be aiming to 'catch up' by the end of month 3. I've spent almost 2 months' money within the first month but it does include the deposit for photographer for DD's wedding. The only reason I am counting this is because I'll be adjusting the balance when any cashback, vouchers or winnings arrive.

Lynda, hope everything goes smoothly with the handover of new house keys.

Woo hoo SM, keep 'em coming :rotfl:I need to stack them up before Nyk reminds me about India ;) I don't have a photo Candygirl but she's a 3 month old border collie (I love collies!) who's black and white with lots of black/white flecks on her face (like an English springer might have). She was brought in by her last owners because they 'had too many animals' - OH levelled this one right back at me when I told him  - but there was also a notice up about other puppies in there which had been confiscated from a farm with 160 other animals :mad: so she may be part of that I'm not sure. If anyone's on the look out for some especially lovely animals,we have loads at our Home at the mo. Did I mention that OH wants a wolf?:rotfl:Well, I kid you not, today I was walking around and I heard a wolf's howl! There's a beautiful husky in, so of course I offered OH a deal...we could get the 'wolf' and the collie :rotfl::rotfl:Needless to say he laughed me out of the room :D
EDIT: :rotfl:I read your mind Nyk. I've already thought of this (of course - got to have my arguments all lined up for OH ;)) - India is still a big if but if we did go she would stay with my parents and their collie. The thing is, I'm not sure this is the best start in life for her but then I also think it's got to be better than staying in the Home, and I would love her lots :o I could even stay here while OH goes...*only half joking*. I think the best thing about it all is that for the first time since I've been ill, I feel well enough to be able to take care of a dog, and energetic enough to have one :j

    Sorry bails you're already busted:rotfl:

DD's friend has one of the "husky" type dogs, it has the most gorgeous unusual eyes, the brightest blue eyes I have ever seen in a dog and was sooooo cuddly as a pup. It was stolen from the garden when it was tiny but because it was so unusual was easily picked up by police when someone tried to sell it to local petshop:mad:

What is the saying, I don't know it  - you mean new house - new baby??

Thank you everybody. You are lovely. Especially re the virtual yellow mug. I keep looking...

I have been booked to do two week house sitting in August (when nursery closed and DD is with me) in a house with 4 cats and a collie, no - it is not Bails. And I might have another one in the end of March in a house with two collies and some poultry. Can you imagine what it will do to my water bill (I am on meter). :rotfl::T

Too tired now so will finally go for my bath that I have been promising to myself. Catch up tomorrow.

    Night night,

    Marru

Too late, Bails, beat you there by seconds. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I would have another husky, but they are horrors for forgetting to stop when they get into run mode! They also have a tendancy to kill your ducks if the ducks are stupid enough to [STRIKE]go near the husky[/STRIKE] go into the husky's kennel. :o

  • yes bails [strike]you'd be completely barking to get a dog now, what with hopes of India and possible babies but I know what you animals lovers are like so don't stand a hope, but then lifes for living and grabbing your dreams[/strike] excellent decicionHSpuppylove.gif:rotfl:

EDIT - and it is wonderful you feel well enough xx And you've solved the india question. My neighbour has a labradoodle puppy and I am in love.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

aaaahhhh, lots of lovely news on the thread tonight

Bails - I agree with NYK, lovely to have a pup but what about when you're in India?

Marru -CONGRATULATIONS, yippee, enjoy your cider, you've 'earned' it :)

Lynda - good luck with the move, all very exciting :)

Candy - what a relief it must be to know grandbaby is the right size and that DD will (fingers crossed) be moving to your street.

I'm hoping that soon enough I'll have good news with the house - am having lots of viewings with people saying nice things (apart from the numpties yesterday who said I didn't have enough lawn....in my 80ft garden, okay only 1/3 of it is lawn, the rest is decking and a patio, but could they not just buy some turf?!?).

Can't wait for payday tomorrow, and the start of another month of being frugal and fun :)

Marru - congrats on the job :T

Bails - been trying to convince myself it wasn't you talking about 6 months in India, as that was my one concern about you getting a dog (otherwise I'd have said 'go for it').... but I see from Nyk's post (and yours) that I was right in thinking it was you. With her being so young, I'm not sure having her for 6 months, then leaving her for 6 months, and then coming home to her would work out -- my experiences (though limited) say that at these ages pups are like babies, and they like continuity. Regular changes of homes/people probably wouldn't help her nerves at all. So I'm sorry, but it's a 'no' from me :(

Congratulations Marru on the job and LS on the new house and Bails on feeling well enough to contemplate getting a dog. I think I wanted to congratulate Janey too, but can't remember what for and my internet is playing up so it takes too long to go back and check. For those who don't need congratulations for a specific event, have some for making it through January and still being part of our challenge!
