  • Hi cw:D
we had the costco chicken fillets for tea tonight and they were lovely and they really don't shrink at all, shows how much added water is in some of supermarket chicken fillets though in comparison:rolleyes:

Looks like you are getting wily getting out of date stuff and soya mince past DS:T :T - OH had celery in his tea tonight - which he hates with a passion but I shredded it so fine he didn't recognise it -and I told him it was leeks:o he said it was lovely:rotfl:

Knew my new food processor would come in handy for something :)

I had a thought about hoarding/recycling etc and sophiesmums table what item do you have that you have had a long time not quite an heirloom but one you cannot part with??

My mum wanted to keep everything, so we got rid of her during the house move:rotfl: .

I don't know, we kept the girls silver cross prams, but there wasn't any heirloom furniture, it's all been chucked. I have got some dolls from years ago in the loft, I wouldn't bin them, my bit of nostalgia.

My lunch was really nice, and even better as my friend paid for it. :T :T She must have felt sorry for me as I was talking about the site.:D I think she is going to join, she seemed really interested. xx
  • Well the muesli is made, and jellies done and in fridge, and have just topped up the pulses/seeds in kitchen cupboard, which is also my baking cupboard -

reminded me I haven't made DD any flapjacks for a while in remoska and she really loves them so think that will be next job, only takes about 20 minutes or so.:D

Hi guys, just catching up on posts. Not much to report at the mo, still plodding along and have been spending a rather large amount of time over on the OS boards learning about how to create my store cupboard and make meals go further and things like cooking extra meals. I did these things but on a very small scale, however i am now learning a whole new way of doing things that can help me save even more money! Needless to say i am rather happy!

  • Ah you have reminded me-sugarfree jellies for me! And to make some yoghurt as I didn't buy any of the readymade stuff today.
Oh WOW sophiesmum! I'm in love with your cupboards! Remind me-how do you add a photo?
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults
  • What do you frunchkins use to store your packets in.? I'm thinking along the lines of sugar free jelly mixes, dessert whips, dried soya mince, parsley sauce mixes etc.
These are the things that always start to run amok in cupboards sliding all over the place. I have some in small plastic boxes without lids, but then you can't stack them:confused: anyone have any better ideas???? Preferably without buying special stuff.

I take mine on phone - load into my pictures on laptop, then open my photobucket account (its free) and I can then browse photos on laptop on there and upload wht I want to my photobucket page. Then click on img link underneath picture, which copies it , and paste into post. Only takes a minute once you get the hang of it.

Sm I use plastic boxes with lids that I already had. 1 for small pkts of stuff for baking and others for soups and other pkts. I keep some larger marge tubs and icecream tubs for storage and freezer.
I also ask other people I know if they are throwing any out to pass them on to me instead. Bil brought me a load of biscuit and sweet tins a couple of weeks ago. I store sugar in some and just run tape around to seal them ( they are for longer term storage)
  • I might have to invest in a few small lidded storage boxes for them if I can't come up with anything else. There is a lot of wasted space on the inside of doors in the cupboards may see if I can come up with something to utilise that space.
