Just a word of warning that is a fee charging company who also take all the interest and try to look like an official site, you can claim this through the inland revenue and customs website - check under childrens tax allowances - and you will not lose any of payment - I claimed this last year for my sil:D

    This is the official link-
    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/news/ctc.htm

Thanks again sophiesmum as when I printed off the form from "my" link I noticed the "agents" details on it!

So anyone making the claim-make sure you have the proper link as sophiesmum said!

Im guessing you have just saved me some money! I wonder how many others slipped up and didnt notice though? the link I was given was a cutting from the Daily Mail.

try rubbing methylated spirits into the area. Cats hate the smell. It will be safe when dry

Have you tried putting a litter tray in the exact spot the cat is aiming for, if he/she is just going in one place? Or put out a food bowl, that can help stop them too.

Sorry, no time to catch up properly on all the posts but hugs to those who are finding it tough at the moment.

  • Done a few more of the qype reviews tonight whilst OH is watching his beloved Liverpool FC, now up to 28 firsts and 12 others - it is going to take aa while to get to the £50 aim, but a few each day should soon add up, hope I don't run out of places first. IF i get the voucher will probably use as a gift or get DD to sell it on e bay.
Quite enjoying doing the reviews though.:D

Quiet on here tonight is everyone else off qyping too I wonder:rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Hi Everyone!!
The rural living idea I'm sure will take a while to implement but I'm just glad we've made the decision. Thanks for your comments and adding the link Nyk.

We have all the food bits we need to last until 26th-pay day so we've used up the remaining money in the tin-We've picked up some pizzas for Feb's menu (which is almost complete), half price Princes tuna (haven't enough money to stockpile but we've probably got about 15 tins now), offer peas (cheap vegetable) and 12 FR eggs for £2 in Tesco.

OH used up the chocolate his auntie sent him from America for Christmas (Dark-can't eat dark) to make chocolate brownies-OMG, they are amazing, has put brandy in them and they taste sublime.

Used up the remaining tomato soup made from whoopsied organic tomatoes today. So starting on the Brocolli and Stilton tomorrow (stilton a Christmas present from Brother).

Qype update: Up to 22 1st and 1 2nd so £22.50. Will corner OH tomorrow to tell me about every curry house he has frequented over the last 20 years. Also his opticians/dentists. I've reviewed schools, churches and garden centres!!

Hugs to Marru and anyone else who needs them.
I think we are all doing brilliantly!!

    Hello all,

SM and BB when you go into business of decluttering and organising people's belongings I highly recommend that you take Bails as a partner to life coach your clients. She has just left here and have completely life coached my life in last couple of hours plus. friends2.gif

I have now action plan to go towards my ultimate goals and keep the life ticking at the same time. So fingers crossed that crashes like today won't happen any time soon. And thanks to all the people here being so supportive signheart.gif

I still need to check my CV and email it to the recruitment company I have appointment in tomorrow, feed my rodents and then snuggle up with my lovely dog for a good night sleep.

    Catch up again tomorrow,

    Marru

  • wow, you lot have been busy today, so many pages to read and now I can't remeber who said what!

Thanks for the info on resizing the message box, I didn't know that either, it always annoyed me that I could only see a tiny bit of my post at a time.

Got my dual fuel bill today, and it was £53 less than the same time last year, despite the increased prices, also I'm now £130 in credit, don't think I've ever been in credit in January before :j

Re Qype, to start a review on a new place you just type the name of the place in the box, then it asks you for the address, then it tries to find it on the map (it couldn't find any of mine despite me putting the postcodes in, kept being at the nearest town 3 miles away :rotfl:) then you have to select the type of place it is from a drop down menu, and finally you can write your review. That seems very long winded, but i'm not very computer literate and I managed fine.

Marru, sorry you had a bad day, glad you're feeling a bit better now, hugs to you and Bails, and anyone else who needs them (((((((((())))))))))

Whoever was going to advertise on freecycle for dining chairs, I recently accquired four from my freecycle to replace our remaining rickety 3, I'm really pleased with them. Isn't freecycle great?
  • I need a life coach in my bedroom!!!! no-not like that-its a ***** mess! Every day Ive been nagged to start on it but Im so unmotivated this week!

Hi everyone, hope you're all well.

As usual Monday is a spending day for me. After having a couple of very bad gastric attacks at the weekend I decided to go back to the doctors. She checked me out and gave me some extra strength meds - Lansoprazole - and told me to get bloods taken, and is referring me to the gastroenterologist (I think that's what she said). So whilst waiting for my prescription (free with tax credit :T ) I browsed B00ts and spent £5.61 on crimbo paper, cards and luxury crackers. Given a £5 voucher for No. 7 and bought a £6 nail varnish for £1. Also bought HSM goodies for DD for birthday in BHS reduced right down.

Right, off to catch up on CBB (I'm a day behind  )

I just found the snowball calculator thingy!!! It's fantastic!! Seen it mentioned a few times, but i've only just found it.

Seems that without overpaying stuff, i'll be debt free by sept 2010 - YAY!! If that's the worst case scenario, it can only be good news if i start to overpay, especially when smaller debts have gone and i can use the money from them.

OOOH!! I am a happy bunny!

PS I read a post where someone said they have 300+ in their Paypal account - I've read some scare stories where money has just been taken back out, for no good reason. I take mine out as soon as it reaches £50 (no fees!!)
Oh for Goodness' Sake!! Here we go again :(
Total debt £4,839.51 (Still adding it up though :( )
    Now : £4, 759.81

Oh yes it is! :T Thanks for the hugs Lingo and the well wishes Nyk.

Frugalitis alert - I'm just sitting here with OH making a menu plan and we've agreed to do a stocktake of the freezers together tomorrow - I think he's at the next stage of infection :j
A point I meant to make the other day and forgot: be careful when buying value ranges as they are not always the cheapest product in the line  In Mr S the other day they had value houmous added to their range but per gram it was more expensive than their lower fat version (even without the additional 25% off they're currently running on the healthy one). It was only a penny dearer (26p cheaper with the offer) but it made me question how other lines compared. :confused:Remember, Value ranges are big business these days - they were promoting it at the front of the store and over the tannoy constantly - so just be careful you don't get stung. I'd be interested to hear of any other incidents like this too.

Right, night all, see you tomorrow x
