Although I've not seen anything in the rules (I admit I've not read them in fine detail from top to bottom), my local one doesn't seem to allow this

I've spotted a couple of ads from last year where it said pictures had been removed -- so I'm guessing the chaps who run it did this before releasing the ads to the public!! Seems odd to me, as I've seen quite a few offer ads with very little detail - -so a photo would make a lot of difference....

Well lets say there are unfortunatley a few "strange" groups about-or maybe strange mods. Freecycle.org allow and encourage photos. They cannot unfortunately be put into the post in the way that ebay lets you do it. The way to check if its possible on any group is to look for a photos link to theleft side of the homepage. If its missing its because the group owner/lead mod has disabled it by choice which to me in mho is madness as it really does help shift funiture and save people coming around to see something they may not want.
I have actually been a member of one freecycle group where there was no photo link-also no correspondence when I contacted the group owner-and not a lot of members either-surprise surprise!
Some mods are illinformed-some are illtempered but most are great!
All I can ever sugggest is that if your group has no photo link then ask why and tell the mods how helpful it would be-otherwise find a better local group-if there is one.
If they removed photos I can only think it allows them but that for some reason they were containing something inappropriate maybe? I always take a good look at the photos before approving them. I do remember the ebay one selling a table and chairs where the guy selling it had a mirror on the wall and he was naked while taking the photo!
Just been on ebay in saying that to(look for naked men)phone topups/vouchers and soforth as Ive got money left over from last year in my account to spend. Found a phone topup-no naughty pics- lol(well I didnt really look for pics) and some 2 for 1 cinema vouchers for dds birthday treat in Feb.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Evening all :)

Not had much time to post recently, sorry! But I haven't been up to much so not much to say anyway haha.

Well it's that time of year, student loan pay day, and most of it is on its way to Egg, no more than necessary for the coming month is in the account.

I've noticed all my friends justifying expenses saying 'Well my loan's come through so I can afford it', classic financial error! I'm putting it in my savings so I don't spend any more than I would usually.

I'll now try and catch up with the last few pages :rotfl:

    Hi Bails
My friends present situation is not good. The children are mainly from one tribe and in an area of people from another. Their plan is to relocate. So I'll let you know if any possibilites come up in the future. At the moment even their present staff aren't safe.
    Take care

    Good evening,

Have been helping with housemove tonight so not much time for posting. I started doing my reviews in the shop today, I might get some more done in the morning before I go out to continue with the housemove. They have soooo much stuff!!!

I seem to be getting tighter by the day:p , this is a good thing though. Last night (cause of flitting), I got the dinner in from KFC, it cost me £20. Then later I went to Asda, £5, then they had the chippie later on as 1 sis had nothing to eat and others jumped on the bandwagon, £17, this morning I got rolls and stuff as they had no eats at the new house £5.

Now, this sort of spending was normal to me up until recently. Even my sis who said I was going tight was shocked when I told her I had spent nearly £50 on nowt. She is coming round to our way of thinking.

I made sure my dad got the dinner in tonight, I've done my bit!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Grandma, thanks a lot for posting re: the slow recipies, I've downloaded them and I'll have a look through when the housemove is complete.

Off to bed now, nite nite. xx

Hi frunchkins, ws going to say good evening but just noticed it is now morning:rolleyes:
Went to bed earlier as had migraine it cleared after a couple of hours nd when I came around a bit I decided to seriously clear out my wardrobe. have now got 3 black bags of clothes ready for charity shop and a half empty wardrobe. Counted 58 items that hadn't been worn for over 12 months at least, won't miss any of them and can't even remember already what is in bags. Found three more pressies for my stash that had been lost, also £8.20 and a receipt dated 2006 in an old fleece.:D so quite productive. Also offloaded some riding gloves, muckas, hardhat and and other riding paraphenalia etc onto DD ;) I may be able to sneak a bit of AF order in wrdrobe now until needed:rotfl:
First thing in morning will be dropping bags off at mums (she volunteers in shop) and having my hair cut whilst there by friend who is hairdresser.

Nyk - sorry about greenhouse, hope your quail house wasn't damaged, think we have had some slates off tonight, will have to check in morning but heard some crashing earlier when winds were at their worst.

Whitewing - good to have you posting again - it's like having the family back together.Sounds like DS is having lots of successes, you must be so proud of him:T :T .
Janey - hugs (((:heartpuls ))) ,SF hope you are okay too (((:heartpuls )))

Fizzel - persevere with your moski, I didn't get on with mine too well either at first but they do grow on you. Things do take a bit longer generally but just remind yourself that it is running on much less power than your oven. Once you get the hang of it you won't be so anxious when things are cooking. ;)

CW - :T :T well done on sorting cc,

marru - hope car situation is resolved soon, lucky you had lots of cashback to claim:T :T

    Morning Frunchkins:)

Have just updated spends so far for January and total spends so far are £352.63:eek:

I am slightly over budget at the moment but this will level itself out over the next few weeks as I have been starting to stockpile a few bits a pieces:)

Have just had my gas bill and its not pretty! It is 6 months worth from July - December and they want to put my direct debit up:eek:

I guess I am going to have to try harder to reduce my utility usage even further!

Will be spending most of today in the kitchen cooking up a storm:D Hope you all have a great day!

  • Morning all...sorry not been on much - yesterday was spent cleaning someones house (was paid!) the felt it was wrong that theirs was spotless while mine a tip so spent afternoon/eve moving bedroom around and cleaning. Alfie cat has decided that litter trays are out and carpet in so much time spent trying to rid the hall of smell...may need to get rid of carpet and go with flooring like slate tiles etc as its in the hall...v. annoying. Had comp probs yestrday so havent updated spending diary but am doing ok - £9 odd spent on cleaning stuff yesterday and today will be a few squid..
Trying to keep up with people but still struggling to remember names etc! So welcome silkbeast; hope you sort the greenhouse out Nyk; hugs re migraine sohpies mum...horrible arent they...love the garden shaz! Does he fanc popping in to the allotment lol! Am going today with a man who I hope can - fingers crossed. Have decided if I cant get regular share/help will cut my plot in two and just have half....too much for me on my own with house etc to run and a nightmarishly busy few weeks at work...
Anyway, hugs those that need them. Am doing well on money in terms of getting extra; sold a load of craft stuff; cleaned house and babysitting on Monday...hurrah!
