Oh and I must have a rant folks!! At work our NY resolution was to spend no more money at the butty shop (£5 a day) but to bring lunch taking it in turns, sandwiches, leftovers soup etc and thereby massively saving cash. Well today was my turn and I brought in homemade parsnip soup and poppy seed bread in a little jute bag which says "My Little Lunch Bag" on the side (very obviously my lunch).
My bosses husband walked in at 11.3am and quietly goes over to my bag, takes the bread and eats it without a word! I can't even begin to see the funny side of that - taking someones lunch?? Needless to say I went ape.....
I'm just speechless!
If anybody ate my lunch at work....LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

It may be on the actual PC case on a sticker.
I'd warned and warned her about opening attachements she wasn't expecting, and files from the Internet -- but she carries on doing it. As such I'm refusing to knock myself out trying to get it sorted this time around.....
The first time a friend of mine managed to rebuild for her (he builds computers). The second time I lent her the money to pay a local shop (and she paid back in dribs and drabs, but I don't think I saw more than half of it). This time she's on her own, and has to work her own priorities out !!!Cheryl0 -
Facebook is not for me either. I have a page on it, but don't really bother with it TBH. I prefer it on here as I like the community feel to it as we are all like minded. I would love to be able to meet some/all of you in person one day, but with us being spread all over the place, who knows if this could ever happen
.
If I knew that I was going to be passing someone's area, I would defo pop in for a coffee (I would bring some treacle scones or ginger cake):D .0 -
Don't you DARE all go disappearing on me

Me too! (don't hurt me) I only have time for this site. if I visited anymore sites I'd NEVER get anything done
, that's not to say that it can't be done, just (as CW says) don't leave us here twiddling our thumbs!!

Evening all, and many thanks to Nyk for adding me to the challenge list, thought I might as well join you guys properly :T
Today started very well, had a meeting in town first thing and then went for a cuppa (paying using my Starbucks gift card from Christmas, so cost zilch) and brought my lunch with me. Then the chaos ensued..... with the usual little spending, which I realise all adds up. First the usual can of pop (which I MUST stop as I would preferably like some teeth left in a decades time :rotfl: ) and then, before a free cinema screening ('Milk'- it was quite good, and James Franco was in who I like), I went to Boots to redeem my free No5 voucher on some lovely nail varnish, but ended up spending £5.30 in total on other stuff. Hoo Hum. I keep telling myself it is no use saving money on cinema tickets for free screenings, then spending money in the shops beforehandI am going to record every single penny I spend on the little things and try and cut it down.
It's so hard though, evil shops at every turn! :rotfl:0 -
Hi guys
Just had a brief read as I have only been in an hour and I went out at 7.45 this morning ( all extra money though!!)
Well done to all you frugallers. I only spent on sons boxing club fees and bus fares which are all in my budget.
Off to bed now0 -
