Nyk - do keep watching the victorian farm prog - I think last was the first in a series and last night's was just about getting the place sorted to start the year off. They are starting the years project in Oct and it will run through the year (shown in 6 episides over the next 6 weeks for us I think). I think the guy did a lot of ploughing but to keep the prog interesting, they only showed us the expert bit, there's a limit I suppose to how interesting watching a bloke go up ad down a field is:).The point of the prog to more to educate us historically, not to flog the 3 taking part to death doing everything themselves from scratch, IYSWIM. I'm not sure they do give recipies(though they tell you were they get the source material from so it must be researchable for us.) Again - it's about giving us an historical overview of the way they lived and how by living it as much as possible bearing in mind they have 21st century bodies not used to relentless physical labour, and haven't had years of eperience behind them that someone born in the times would get from birth. They did the 17thC a few years back and it was superb. Do keep watching.
Feeling like I have a hang over today (but I don't drink) so a groggy start to the day.
General frugal/simplifying goals for the day- make use of my cleared table and do some creative stuff
- prep kitchen for tomorrow's sink removal:j .
- Unfortunately B&Q delivered my second worktop today and it is damaged and OH didn't notice, so will have to go there and sort that one out.
- Start putting stuff for charity shop in a bag in one place
- HM soup for lunch from veggie leftovers.
2nd time around -your health is the most precious thing you have, which i think you know, but please try and get some chill out time - from one who's life has been too curtailed by loss of health at a young age. Once gone it can be very difficult to get back.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hi all:hello:
Am exhausted after very little sleep last night:(Am planning on having a NSD today, and nothing's gone out of my bank so yipeeee:j However I dropped my mobile last night and it's kaputt, so unless I can get my Mums old one i'll be having to but a new one as this one has been sent back to be mended 4 times already;)
Will do a basic freezer and cupboard list later, but not planning on doing much as I feel crap:o"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

hello everyone
thanks for the words of support last night, I think it was all stuff that we needed to say to each other, though not necessarily in that way! Things are better now, though still a little strained. I just get so frustrated being stuck here when all my friends live other places, and get feeling so that I'm trapped. Anyway, I've took on what she said, and well, we'll see.
Today isn't going to be a NSD for me as we need some bread and other bits and pieces so after work I'll get those.
Hope everyone is having a good day and (((HUGS))) to those that want/need them.
sf xx

HH62, don't worry I was with you straight away :rotfl:Think it's great and makes a refreshing change :T
If I could find some energy pills SM, I'd be on 'em already :rotfl:Yes ISOM, Marru's DD is coming to stay tonight for the weekend!
Ooh, a world takeover plan eh Jennybee, do tell all?! Do we feature or are our days numbered?
Glad things are a little better SF, sometimes these things need to be said don't they. I can empathise with feeling 'stuck' and isolated from your friends so :grouphug:
I'm with BB 2ndTR - we don't want to nag but it's a good point well made. Nowt is more important than you and your health.
Hope you get some sleep Candygirl.
Right, lesson is all planned - yesterday's was a nightmare (think mathematical/logical brain attempting creative writing, including a dreaded plan and you'll feel some of my pain :rotfl:) so I'm armed with boy-friendly planning exercises to entice him today. The exam's now next Saturday so the mum wants an extra lesson next week - good for my pocket but will need to be careful with my energy. After that though it'll probably drop to 2 lessons a week (poss 3) so don't want to miss the earning potential. At least I've got a quiet weekend lined up...:rotfl:We're moving onto Humanities next, History first and guess what the topic is? Yup, Victorians :T

Hi everyone,
I've spent the morning jobhunting, so have came across a few that i fancy. I'll study them in more detail and then get the applications away over the weekend or by Monday at the latest.
DH has hangover from hell, I told him about his mother's call and he's refusing to go over:mad: . He says he'll go tomorrow, but he won't, I can read him like a book. He can just take her next call and explain himself, I don't want any more to do with it. He goes away tomorrow afternoon, she will be in a real mood if he doesn't visit her!!
Bought some eggs and a couple of newspapers (for jobhunting), so not a NSD. I might just stick to the internet, but I am always scared that I miss something. I might have a look at the actual newpapers on the net to see if the job section is included in that, then that would be the problem solved.:T
I feel a bit tired, I might go for a wee nap. speak later xx0 -

:rotfl: I'm sure I'm going to need all the help I can get to take over the world so you're all safe! It's basically the plan that means I don't have to go back to work at the hell hole aka pit of despair after maternity leave. It's a combination of not spending any more money than necessary along with making money wherever possible! At the moment that's selling cards/gift wrap etc and starting going to farmers markets with chutney, jam, cakes etc. Found a recipe for lemon curd yesterday and never realised it was so easy so that's my next thing to try for!
Oh...and of course selling all my worldly possessions at car boot sales!! It's really not that exciting unfortunatelyJonathan Douglas born 20th January 2009 - 9lb 4oz
