If they have cancelled your policy, then you need to get a new one before you go on the road!
You will need to disclose the cancelled policy (as well as yesterday's whack) when trying to get quotes, and most online mainstream insurers won't quite of you have a cancelled policy on your history.
If you have this problem, then see if a local broker (not swinton) can help you get cover.
If the whack wasn't your fault, you can pursue the third party to get your repairs done etc.
But if it was your fault, start saving as it looks like you will have to pay for your own repairs as well as any third party's too!0 -
I was trying to get a quote for my insurance yesterday and whilst I was near the payment point with Zurich, a pop up message asked me if I wanted to add £33 for overnight accommodation in case there was pipe leakage or some accident. I thought it might be a good idea and so I added it and then on the right hand side, there was a little table, saying that any leakage of water will have excess of £250.. Now, I ask you... When I realised that it would be my excess of £250 that put me in overnight accommodation, I swiftly removed it. I was trying to log on to more th>n account. I could not log in. I phoned and the man said that I might not have registered. I then tried to register and after keying in everything including the policy number, I was told that the details were actively in use. I tried several times and was told that I was locked out because of too many attempts. I went to my email address and found a link which did not take me to the resetting of email. I felt like a dog chasing its tail, getting nowhere. I phoned again to add my son's details in. The man wanted to get my visa debit card number and said he could not send me an email to confirm but would send me a letter ... blah blah blah. Surely if I read out my debit card detail, I would like an email confirmation, it is not too much. So I am being locked out, cannot reset my password. ..0
