TP - I got 6 beautiful roses which was a lovely surprise as DH never buys me flowers!! I didn't get him anything but a card though and was asleep at 9pm as I am sooooooo tired at minute. This pregnancy is taking it out of me (at least I have no energy or desire to go shopping!!) Jan 2008-Paid 74% of debt as of MAR 2012 (DFD - APR 2014) DMP Support Thread Member 154  DFW Long Hauler 116:grin: Official DFW Nerd Club 928- Proud to be dealing with my debts :grin:0

I'm not that good at saving money but then you already knew that by me being on here!
Good luck with it though, a few 50p's a week doesn't sound a lot either but it is surprising how those little amounts build up. I used to do the vouchers from Park for Christmas, a woman from the school does them but ever since what happened to people who used Farepack I have been really wary doing it again.
I was the same terrible at saving up but I seem to be doing ok and with the new budget I am finding things a lot easier and as the box is sealed and has childrens names on it - I think I would be disgusted with myself if I raided it -unless it was a diar emergency of course - (memo to self - that doesnt mean a new top or lunch out is an emergency :rotfl: )
I was thinking of raising my DMP payment after a couple of months to bring my debt free date forward but I am not going to worry about that - I am doing something about it trying to get debt free and thats enormous step for me - so for now I am gonna keep to the budget set by CCCS and be a bit more comfortable off than I have been for an awful long time.
I was asked about Park Hampers the other day but like you say I said no what with woolworths and Zavvi going bust and not honouring vouchers I thought no way.
welcome thenightporter good luck on your journey xxxxx

Valentine's Day ... ooooh, now then, had I or hubby still had access to credit, then we would probably have bought really silly/not really needed items - although, I do have to admit to having pangs of jealousy watching guys scurrying around town with various bouquets of flowers - I love flowers and cant remember the last time I got them (doh, oh yes I do, my big birthday last year
). Me and hubby agreed that it would be cards only (sigh!) and even though I knew that was what we had agreed I still secretly hoped that he had kept an old shoe box and filled it with money to surprise me with something nice.
TP - well done on giving up the dreaded weed - you know it makes sense (said in a cockney Del Boy kind of way) :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
[no hope for me yet on that front]
MNM - how do you become addicted to saving? I start off quite well (she thinks  ) shortly after pay day - using my 'tinternet saving accounts, taking great pleasure in transferring money around ... two weeks later and its all being transferred back ... oooops!
Tinkerbell - I've been good drawing cash out as per budget so that then means there's nothing I can spend on 'tinternet shopping either! I sooo know how tempting it is to do a bit of online retail shopping. These days ... I'm ashamed to admit ... I go to my regular favourite online stores, fill up the basket as I'm perusing (as you do) and then delete the basket at the end :rotfl: :rotfl: (how sad am I folks?!!)
Oh, and Tink, you are giving him the best gift ever ... you are growing your little baby for you both- what could be more romantic and loving than that?
