Hey everyone, just been catching up with the thread, it really moves fast if you don't log on for a few days.
Great news about the baby Tinkerbell,:j thats the thing to focus on now, and kind of puts things in perspective really and makes you realise whats important.

Well done on the smoking Toffee Penny, my DH is trying to give up but is finding it really hard, he has managed to cut down loads which is a step in the right direction.

Interesting to read about the different reactions from Egg, I've not heard a peep out of the them since the very beginning, they stopped interest almost right away, I've probably put a jinx on that now and they will start bombarding me with letters etc:eek:

Ianmak, that sounds like a good offer for a F&F, hard to know what to do for the best really, but it is tempting.
To everyone offering F&F's keep us posted how that goes, if the housing market ever picks up we'd be looking at selling and using some of the excess to do that.

  • Good evening

I have received all the paperwork from CCCS for my DMP and am ploughing my way through it! I have just been trawling the threads , as you do, and have got myself into a panic over the possibility of a 'charging order' on my house, is this only if I have equity does anyone know? I'd appreciate any response , I'm at that 'am I doing the right thing' stage again!!

Not seen any posts from MNM for a while, hope all's well with you ma dear!

    Thanks for your time

Haven't heard anything about that for a while, but this is the latest...

    http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=15_charging_orders_in_the_county_court

They was talk of them occuring more often, but not sure if the Government are trying to discourage it, for obvious reasons...

Hi MD, not really sure about the charging order thing, it is confusing trying to take in so much information. I think from what I've read on here even if it did get to that stage the court are less likely to grant a charging order if they can see you're making an effort to pay your debts via, for instance, a DMP.
Plus I wouldn't have thought there'd be much point if you've got little or no equity.
I would try not to worry too much about that at this stage and just try to keep calm and strong, you are doing the right thing by seeking the help of the CCCS.
    Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks for your replies, I really appreciate it.!

I think sometimes you can look into something TOO much and then end up worrying more about what MIGHT happen, rather than dealing with what IS happening.
I shall try and chill a bit and deal with the situation if it comes along!
    Thanks again guys

    Hi everyone.

We have been on a DMP with Payplan for exactly 12 months and we have our review at the end of February.

Unfortunately, both my hubby and myself are going to have wage cuts at the end of Feb. My hours are being cut and OH salary is being reduced. No matter how I try we know that we are going to have to reduce our payments to our creditors. We were hoping not to, but we are going to be losing around £260 per month.

Has anyone else had to do this, and if so how did your creditors take it.

    Hi,

A bit quiet on here lately eh?

Personally, I haven't had to do this, but I have read that others on here have had to reduce payments at some stage or another. Whether this a tempory or longer term I dont know, but I think it can be done.

It probably depends on individual creditors as to how they take it.

Sorry not more helpful, but im sure someone will be along in a bit!

  • hey guys, we are about to take the plunge and set up a dmp with cccs. Can anyone tell me what i need to send them with my agreement? i know they need proof of income, but i think i may have misplaced the letter telling me how much tax credits i get! I am so nervous about doing this and we are up to date on all our payments at the mo but panicking and ebaying and scraping every penny together to maintain that is really getting to me and i really cant do that any more. Any words of wisdom you all have would be fab. Thanks! pop xxx

    Hi,

I never used the CCCS, but all I sent off at the beginning of my DMP was a wage slip, income/expenses form and the signed agreement. I wasn't asked to prove tax credit info, I just noted it in the income form along with child benefit.

Can you not check your bank statement for the tax credit info?

    Cocker:)
