    Hi everyone....

finally things are going ok. Spoke to Fashionworld t'other day and the payment plan has been sorted and set up... yay!! Got statements from other cats saying account is now on hold due to repayment plan... no further charges added!!
Thank god for that.... they were my biggest worry but according to the nice lady at Reliable they've miraculously 'found' *cough, cough* :D the stuff from Kensington (coincidentally after I spoke to Kensington the other day and the lady I spoke to was furious with them....:D) and the payment plan is all set up for all 6 catalogues. :jNothing else from GE, NatWest or Littlewoods so I assume all is ok.... finally its going right!!!

HSBC are turning it up a bit now. 35 calls in the last couple of days to my mobile and house phone. They have started at 8am and yesterday I answered one at 8:30am to have a woman say to me "Good afternoon Mr Duggan"! :) Mental. I refused to confirm my identity and asked for them to write to me if it was so important but apparently they couldn't because of data protection. How they send me statements each month if that is the case I'll never know. Silly people. :D

I had this from them at the beginning of my DMP, all day everyday, however the minute they received the first DMP payments from CCCS it all went strangely silent, and now they've actually sent me a letter saying they're reducing my CC interest to 6% for 6 months to help me....I know its not 0% but its better than a kick in the teeth! Just hoping the loans and overdraft depts follow suit now too!

Hang on in there, the phone should stop ringing soon! I just took my home number off my accounts via online banking and left my mobile on silent for a month, so only spoke to them twice! x

I upped my payments to Payplan by a whole £15 a month and had my first letter back today saying thank you for the increased payment, we'll accept that :) That was from Bank of Scotland who I thought were going to be really difficult but they've been the best of all my creditors.

The extra £15 a month has taken about a year off my DFD - I think it's now early 2025. Still, that's better than 2026!

    Hello again,

I have been on a DMP for what seems like ages and it will be many many years before it is all payed off

When OH and i seperated i knew that really i couldnt afford to keep paying the current repayment amount but i was so worried about reducing the payments for fear of action they might take. I was struggling so much that eventually i decided i had to do something and now i only pay 1.00 to each creditor. I should have done this much earlier, the creditors Halifax and CL finance have accepted the payments

My fil3 is doing very well at the moment. Have just received a lovely letter today to file! It was from NatWest agreeing to repay £78 pounds of CC charges! That's in addition to the MBNA and Halifax charges I've claimed back! :T
I really can't say how easy the reclaiming process has been and would encourage any of you how are thinking whether to give it a go or not to just do it! It only takes a tiny bit of effort and a few letters so just go for it! :D

Just off to get my monthly indulgance treat of a chinese takeaway! May even pour myself a vodka letter to celebrate!

    Stolli,

I keep putting off reclaiming charges! not really sure why, it just seems quite daunting and i'm not even sure i'll count for 'hardship'!! What's the first thing i need to do? And what info do i need for ppi reclaiming? I don't think any of mine had it but two of hubs did so i might as well try that too.

    Hey guys,

with My credit card and NEXT store card spiralling out of control, and being unable to meet the monthly payments, I decided to take out a DMP with Gregory pennington, debt management. After speaking on the phone to one of there helpful advisors, I felt like they could manage my debt, they promised that they could arrange for my interest to be frozen so that I could pay off my debt much quicker.

Although NEXT have frozen the interest, and I'm just paying off the debt. My Virgin credit card is still charging interest of about £60 a month. Now baring in mind Gregory pennington are paying £76 a month on my behalf to Virgin credit card, I'm only really paying £16 a month off it. It's gonna take me years to pay back at this rate. Also Gregory Pennington are taking £46 a month from me in management fee. I just feel like I am hitting my head against a brick wall every month. Although its nice to have the peace of mind that they are dealing with my creditors and i'm no longer getting the threatening calls and letters.

I'm just wondering if there is any other debt management I could use, that doesn't charge alot every month. I mean that £46 I'm paying Gregory pennington every month could be paying more of my credit card off.

I really don't know where to go from here, all help and advice is appreciated

    Hi mandij30 and welcome
Most people on this site use one of the free debt charities:
    www.cccs.co.uk, www.payplan.com, www.citizensadvice.org.uk www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/

They are used to people swapping over from different debt organisations, so gather your financial stuff together and give them a call and see what they can do for you. Because they are so popular their lines can get very busy, but it's worth hanging on to speak to them (not least because I think they all have free telephone nos.!)

    Good luck :D
