Just thought I'd pop in and say hello  as it's been a little while since I caught up with this fab thread.
M&S have just accepted my reduced payments via my CCCS DMP for a second year, and will continue to not add any interest, which is fantastic. M&S are the biggest creditor, and I started the DMP owing them about £10,500 on my credit card . It's been a huge relief that they accepted the DMP straight away, and have continued to do so for a further year :T.
Off to catch up on all the recent posts on here ...Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***
Paid back just under £50,000 due to some interest added.
Dealt with my debt through a Step Change (CCCS) DMP.

Can anyone tell me please if I get letters from RMA and Aegis does this actually that MBNA have sold the debt on? Are these folk sctaul DCA like Blair Oliver Scott etc..? If so do I have to send the letters I have received to CCCS?
Also anyone who is with CCCS do you pay by DD or S/O they have asked for DD but I thought I read that SO was better?
Can't help with your first questions but can with the one about CCCS and direct debits/standing orders.
I pay the CCCS by direct debit - it comes out of my bank account on the 1st of every month. I've just checked the help section of my online account with them - and this is what the CCCS says about making your payment:How can I pay my monthly deposit?Hope that helps.
You can make your monthly DMP payment using any of the following payment methods:
DIRECT DEBIT
Our preferred method of payment is Direct Debit where we can automatically debit your bank account each month with the value of your DMP payment.
STANDING ORDER
If you would prefer to pay by Standing Order, where your bank automatically sends us your DMP payment each month.
We do not accept cash or personal cheques.
POST OFFICE GIRO TRANSCASH
Use the Giro slip on the bottom of your monthly statements to make your payment to us. These can be paid through any Post Office. Note: The Post Office charges a fee of £2.60 for each transaction.
I think the general advice on here recommending standing orders over direct debits relates more to those set up direct with your creditors - you have control over standing orders, whereas with direct debits, creditors can effectively help themselves to any amount.
I've had no problems at all with my direct debits to the CCCS.Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***

First creditor contact - suprisingly by letter from HSBC - Helen Packwood, Senior Collections Manager.
They thanked me for my contact concerning repayment of the account but now want me to filll out a "Personal Assesment Form"??? But surely I have already done this with my DMP budget with the CCCS.
It then tells me I can contact the CAB or CCCS if I need any help - well I've already done that haven't I. So I'm going to ring CCCS on Monday to ask what I should do. I may call HSBC on the numbered provided just to re-iterate that I am going on a DMP with CCCS from the first of May. Something tells me they may be trying to offer me one of their products - anybody have any advice??
Jon
PS the token payment has been cashed as well
Hello :hello:
A couple of my creditors asked me to complete their forms, even though they'd been sent the one I'd completed for the CCCS. In response, I wrote advising that they already had this information from the CCCS (and included a copy) or I e-mailed the CCCS and got them to send the information through again. I didn't complete any creditors' forms.
Personally, I wouldn't call HSBC - write to them instead, reminding them of your DMP with the CCCS, give them your reference number, and the telephone number that CCCS provides for creditors.Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***

Nothing well I didnt I just asked for 10 £1 postal orders and I filled in who it was payable to myself when got home. Bit like writing a chq. Lady at post office did not ask for any info thankfully. Be sure to put your a/c no either on front (payable to ) or on back. HTHDMP Mutual Support Thread No 278

HI- I asked the same question to Payplan this week-RMA who have written to me, act on behalf of the creditor- in my case MBNA. If they don't succeed they will send the problem back to MBNA, and they then might sell your debt to a DCA. However RMA are not a DCA- they are just a very persistent and irritating company who make frequent calls and send letters. Oh and yes- do send copies to CCCS- I would send copies of all correspondence because that gives them the best chance of working on your behalf.

is all this writing to creditors necessary with information they already have surely a letter informing them once and once only should be enough, coupled with the fact that Pay Plan or Cccs have written to them as well. i am getting hardened to this already and i haven't even started my DMP yet so not had to deal with many things.....but i bet this will change in the coming months, must have the house valued it must be worth a pittance by now.+ we split one room into two to provide accommodation for my DS DD so that should have knocked a few grand off the price LOL

Hi cheesypuff,
I've been getting a couple of letters from both Aegis and RMA. As far as I know they are inhouse so the debt is still with the original company.
I think you only need to send the letters to the CCCS if they pass it on to a DCA or if you are getting hassled - someone please correct me if I am wrong - am new to this myself........
Just wondering how long people waited before starting their dmp proper-like after initial contact with CCCS or PP? Is it worth holding it off for a couple of months to get big things like car services etc out of the way and stashing the cash?Proud to be dealing with my debts

That is what I thought that they were not a proper DCA think they are just part of MBNA . Will send letters off to CCCS though anyway.DMP Mutual Support Thread No 278
