Another thing about full and finals, dont feel like you have to accept them, if you dont think you can manage to pay it, as it will make you struggle...then dont.

Once they have made you an offer, they will continue to do so even if you cant take them up the first time.

Also you can offer your creditors full and finals dont wait for them to offer you, if you come into some money or have saved abit up...write a letter with your offer and see if they accept.

You are no worst of by doing this. But may end up better off.

Play the creditors at their own game, remember your in charge now not them!!

Hey simbalou, good luck with your F&F offer, I'm really interested in seeing how people get on with this, as we're hoping to sell the house later in the year:eek: , and would hopefully be in a position to offer F&F's.
Let us know how you get on.
I'm struggling majorly at the moment, as I know lots of others are, no money, literally, till pay day 28th, DH has no work coming in, it's going to be a very difficult two weeks.

Thanks Kudox, I was quite excited when I read the letter (how sad is that?!) I just want to be sure that they will def use it as final settlement. I'm even worried about ringing them and thinking maybe I could send a recorded delivery letter so I have proof of everything that's going on.

I'll report back along the way, I know people appreciate it, I know I do when I lurk in the abckground.

Hope DH work picks up, my DH had extra hours for the last month but we started squirreling money away from the start and I have refused to spend it but I think this F&F is the perfect place for it to go. Keep going and I really do hope you get some interest in your house.

I wonder if they are all just trying to get rid of the annoying people on dmp's and keep the well behaved ones that pay full interest?!

Thanks, hope you get you offer accepted, that would be brilliant to get rid of one of your debts, I would definately use the money for that if I was in your position,

I think its about £600 or something is it? Hmmm. One month of my DMP payment would nearly cover it :o

Maybe that should be my emergency fund goal :rotfl:

well if could very well come to that. I don't think I'd have to pay the £150 court fees but still pay the other fees of £345 or whatever it is

2spicy, I read some posts on this thread recently that said it's worth starting to negotiate F&Fs much lower than that even as low as 20 or 30%, and going up to about 50%.
It's worth a try, they can only say no and it's better in your pocket than theirs.
