Fabulous - it's so nice to know that there is a community here that I can turn to - it really does make the dark days a little bit easier

Though judging by this evening's entertainment, I'd come back tomorrow if you want any sensible answers to questions. :D

Hi emmylou - lovely to have another DMPer. Am a newbie myself so am a bit alarmed about your visits to court!!!

I have debts at £52,000 and should hopefully be paying just over £1000 a month into my DMP so I am hoping my creditors will accept quickly and without too much fuss.

I sent my first token payments off today     - no going back now!!!

I've also had a letter from RMA regarding a monthly payment from Feb for my A&L credit card.
Should I write to them separately explaining that I am in the process of starting up the DMP or will my letter with token payment to A&L cover them as well?

To answer your question Daffy, I am just so ashamed of the amount of debt I owe and my stupidity in getting into such a mess, that I would feel such a failure admitting it. She is a good friend and the renting/lodging is an informal arrangement - no legal contract as such - and I've been living here for 18 months. It works really well and I pay £500 monthly which is inclusive off all bills (including Sky TV) so I get a pretty good deal.
I'm pretty sure she wouldn't ask me to move out although I have wondered about whether I should consider a house-share with people I don't know, as it is easier to keep stuff private. However, I don't think I would pass the credit check that new landlords do, so I am probably better off staying put.

Sorry for the ramble, feel quite stressed out about things financially at the moment - as much as I know its a good thing I am doing, I am very wound up about it all!:o

    Hi Jenevive,

If you can, stay put at the mo! Why bother adding to the stress you feel now by moving! Who are you strating a DMP with, they will expain what to do and how is best to contact them...honestly just follow what you are told.

It's not hard to keep it private as (at leaest with CCCS) all letters are discreet and easy to spot. Stay chilled hon...you can ramble at me anyday!!;)
    REMEMBER...ALWAYS KEEP SMILING!
you can win if you want it enough
