just seen this thread and made me remember i ordered books 9 days ago and heard nothing from them, will be chasing up as they're happy to take money straight away.

Good luck Lindseykim..... I was promised a phone call from a senior manager yesterday but as yet - nothing. Not a good position to be in. I can't cancel and I cant get my goods.

I phoned this morning as ordered on 29th and still showing as order received yet money was taken straight away - was told they have a big backlog and they are working their way through it and they have now changed their delivery times from 3-5 days to 7-10. She said mine should be despatched within the next couple of days, I will be ringing back at 3.55pm on friday if still not despatched.

Well after me receiving completely the wrong order I was assured my books would be on a next day delivery and a manager would call me back. 5 days later and still no books and 3 weeks since I originally ordered. I called and cancelled the order no problem as I said I was not waiting 3 weeks for their delivery. They never said anything about the box of 10 books I have here that are meant for someone else

Well at least you will get your money back if nothing else. Not good service though. I'm still waiting for my call from the senior manager. He/she must be a very busy person! I've never had a problem with online shopping before so I don't know how long to give them before I ask to cancel. I really would like to get the books though.

I emailed to be told that they have had big orders and couldn't cope basically so they are sorry blah blah and my order is with the warehouse now being picked. we will see!

Around xmas time they were so good, i remember ordering on the 20th december and getting my order xmas eve! I just hope i get my order soon,as its for bday prezzies and i need them within a week! I ordered last wednesday!

Just emailed again as my order is still in 'received' status after 9 working days. Even going by their new delivery dates of 7 - 10 days they would be cutting it fine to get my order delivered for tomorrow! One of my orders was for a birthday present too for 31st Jan. This was within their original 3 - 5 days delivery as stated at the time of order. It is going to be a very late present..........

I find the email enquiry form useless as it does not let you write enough words to describe an ongoing complaint.

Wonder what the reply to my email will be?

I had problems with part of my order being picked incorrectly (original order delivered Christmas Eve) and had problems contacting by email (apparantly system was not set up so someone could read them) and problems contacting by phone (closed over Christmas & New Year then were cut off when trying to call).

Eventually I contacted them by phoning The Book People and explaining the problem. I had a call back within 5 mins and now rectified (although took 2 weeks and a reminder from me to redispatch the correct books).

If you bear with them, they will deliver, but I must admit to being wary about using them again.

The books were great though.
