How hard can it be to go from 1 to 2!! OH MI GOD....

I too had a bad time after first...but went through a phase of aaahhh bless...had another - completely different personality....I swear I can't remember about two whole years of my life.

Had third with new husband, much longed for much thought about doc said more prepared will not get post natal depresssion....ended up on a psychy ward....

THAT's why I left it 12 years to have another...but its all good now!

I also am a control freak but I am married to a 'free spirit' who does not like to be organised...I have just had to let go, although I do manipulate him quite a lot without him realising it...:rotfl:

DD I know exactly where you are coming from and its somthing I desperatley want too but now I have cleared all the baby stuff out, and decided to get on with things for the time being. Im not sure if and when I might have another baby but im not ruling it out for at least 10 years

I can safely say 10 years is a really good age gap!

10 years time would push my gap to 13 !

  • I am lucky, i always only wanted to have one child, and really wanted a daughter, so was lucky when Erin arrived, we do have a special relationship, my mum says we bicker like sisters!

Had i had a boy, i might have wanted another... but who knows...

There is no stigma in only having one child, but then maybe i'm selfish!

I often have to fend off questions about when i'm having any more...

Big G has a son from his 1st marriage (not that we're married but you know what i mean) so he has 2 kids and definitely definitely doesn't/wouldn't/never ever should even think it, want to have more kids..... i think i was quite lucky to have snuck Erin in when his defences were down and we'd just got back together after a few month split...! :rotfl:

sorry, that turned into a selfish ramble! what i meant to say really is, it's okay to have one child..... altho erin would give her right arm for a baby brother or sister!

Doc was fab. He really listened and took note and was not at all dismissive. He thinks most of it is down to being due in 8 weeks (!) but is concerned about the itchy/sensitive skin (mostly because there is no rash and no dryness) and the weepiness. I am signed off for 10 days, so effectively off now until 5th Jan and when I go to midwife on Tues I have to have full bloods, thyroid tests and something to check liver function. In the meantime he's prescribed a pregnancy friendly anti histamine to see if that eases the skin problem.

Thanks for the support over the last couple of days. You're all stars and love you :kisses3:

  • Maz I used to drink a LOT of diet coke, then about 4 years ago I stopped, and without changing anything else I lost a stone  now I only have it occasionally and never more than a can, usually I can't even finish one. I drink a lot of water but - could do better.

thanks for that babes!! you're giving me mega hope here!!!

I'm having the same thing here, re the not being able to finish a can.. too gassy! whereas before i was not even tasting it really, and certainly not conciously drinking it and enjoying it... it was on auto pilot... whereas now i am drinking water if thirsty and snacking less too.... it's all good!

Re the implanon thing coming out, i don;t think it was the great white hope that i thought it would be... i lost a few pounds in the first fortnight but then nothing more....

not that i'm really sweating it, just trying to get to the bottom of it really as should be shifting something with the level of exercise, no?
