No-one forced you to rent you just couldn't afford to buy
I assume you are replying to me.

There are two ways of having a home, buying or renting. If idiot sellers and building societys etc artificially pump up house prices then I am forced to rent. I could have afforded to buy but why the hell should I be sat in a house where my neighbour has paid 3 times less? Wages have not gone up 3 times. Nothing else has gone up 3 times, so why should houses?

Absolute common sense tells you that they are overpriced.

Then it was your choice. If you want a house you pay the price the market dictates. I paid a 5th of what some have paid in the street I live in. They paid more are they bitter, no they have the homes they wanted.

Quite the contrary; no-one forced you to buy, you were just too short-sighted to see that prices were unsustainable and that a crash was long overdue ;)

It was a choice I was forced to make.

Would I pay £30 for a piece of steak? No, I would be forces to choose....NO

Would I pay £10,000 for a 1998 Ford Focus? No, I would be forces to choose....NO

    etc etc etc.

And if you think that the people who paid 5 times more than you and are sitting in a house losing thousands a month are not bitter. Think again!

At the end of the day, it comes down to timing. People who bought in the past when prices were lower were in the right place at the right time. People who've wanted/needed to buy more recently have had to bite the bullet and go for it.

    It's nobody's fault, exactly, it's just unfortunate.

No I was far sighted enough to buy when prices were low, so even if the worst predictions on the crash happen our home will still be worth more than we paid for it.:D

I dont blame people who hate BTLers , or are envious about those who bought 10 years ago, but what is sad is way some people seem to have a "Doom-gasm" about bad news, its almost like bad economic news has become a type of pornography to them, and posting on here about it is like a virtual mutual economic masturbation session.

    all very odd imo

    Oh ,now I get it.

I noticed on another recession thread someone mentioned "3 mansized tissues and baby oil"...Totally passed my by that one, till now.............

Thanks for clearing that one up........Its like the fogs lifted..;)

Including inflation it wont. Which kinda defeats your argument.

This one is going to stop well below the average inflation adjusted price from the last crash. Well below. The last one was blowing off froth. This is a full-scale collapse in confidence.

Thats going to be hard it would take roughly 75% fall and if that happens house priceswill be the least of peoples concerns.
