A little more spending to report, £1.50 in Wilkinsons on a bottle of Stardrops and Neutradol powder which I use to keep my kitchen bin fresh. Then £3 in the pound shop on a big bag of sugar and two microfibre teatowels. I also have a new prescription to collect: very dull spending!! Off to work to [strike]post on moneysavingexpert[/strike] do some more overtime. ;)

More meal ideas after reading the Grocery Challenge thread - lazy lasagne with half of the turkey meat and tomato sauce from the freezer, a tin of condensed soup and pasta. The remainder of the meat to be made into a turkey, mushroom and sweetcorn pie with sauce made from homemade stock and gravy powder. :T

    Bag of king prawns
    Three portions chicken stock

    Supersweet corn

    [STRIKE]Babycorn (needs eating)[/STRIKE]
    Chopped garlic

As can be seen in red, I seem to be adding faster than I am taking away. :o Quite why we have three bags of potato products I have no idea! My hoarding tendencies appear to be quietly transferring to food, we probably have enough to last a month of evening meals.

    Rough Meal Plan
Chicken breast (1) - tikka paste from fridge
Chicken breast (2) - peanut satay sauce and egg fried rice
Turkey meat (1) - lasagne using tomato sauce
Turkey meat (2) - serve with turkey stock gravy, cranberry sauce and chips
Turkey in white sauce - pie with sweetcorn
Turkey mince - meatloaf OR Mexican mince
Bolognese sauce - top with hash browns
    Beefburgers - serve with wedges
Pork sausages - toad in the hole
Leg of lamb - roast dinner
Fresh trout - learn to cook oat groats!
Smoked trout - fishcakes with lemons from fridge
Prawns (1) - Paella-esque dish with fish stock and peas
Prawns (2) - sweet chilli sauce with noodles

    From Storecupboard
Scouse - potatoes, corned beef, onion, beef stock
Huevos rancheros - eggs, peppers, tomato sauce
    Omelette - eggs, vegetables
Vegetarian curry - dried spicy chickpeas, spinach
Lentil soup - homemade stock, two sausages, lentils

Mr. Fire Fox is home so an obligatory chocolate run yesterday cost me £2, bringing my Grocery Challenge total to £93/ £100. :j Managed to talk him out of a Chinese takeaway by offering king prawns in 10p Sharwoods sauce, using up half an over-ripe pineapple, three week old pak choi and served with egg fried rice.

Despite agreeing we need to eat up to defrost the freezer and avoid the beasties found in the carbs cupboard spreading, Mr. Fire Fox has been to Tesco again this morning spending £3.30 on milk and bacon!

Have spent the afternoon cleaning and reorganising all the kitchen cupboards and the fridge. We have nine tins of pulses, five jars of tomato sauce, six Thai/ Chinese sauces, seven tins of fish ...

    End of month accounting
    Income £962
    Essential outgoings £136
    Non-essential outgoings £257

    Paid into savings £500
Overdraft still at nil (but a cheque still hasn't cleared )
    Bills account £550 in credit
£53 still on my Amazon account
£60 cash left from last month (curry house beckons )

I should receive an extra £200 in my wage packet next month for overtime, and have signed up for the Grocery Challenge at £100 again.

Disgustingly hungover again spending £40 on a curry and drinks, getting a round for free at a cocktail bar as I know the owner from business meetings. I don't know her well, so I hope she doesn't think I wanted to say hi to get a freebie. :o

Thanks Claire! :A I write the diary for myself but it's lovely having supportive, regular readers. At least the curry was paid for out of the remains of my August cash, which leaves me the full £250 for September.

Roast lamb on the menu for dinner, but mistakenly let Mr. Fire Fox (a chef) loose on the Yorkshire pudding batter. As a result we are now SIX eggs down instead of the two Josceline Dimbleby recommends. Tomorrow we are going to brave the foul smelling smoked trout as the fish, lemons and potatoes are all past their best.

Just checked my survey accounts and ordered my third £10 voucher from IPSOS which means I have £63 to spend on Amazon! :j

My OH has done a couple of groceries shops as I'm too ill to go out. He's actually done an excellent job and got lots of healthy food for me- love him!
Sorry I haven't had a chance to keep up to date with your diary but I've been too sick :(
