I will look at the Levi Roots sauces, thanks for the tip! Presently making leftover sauce - two tins of tomatoes, half a mini bottle of red wine (ancient!), the last drooping carrot, a yellow pepper, two onions, garlic, and some reduced basil.
With the carrot and cheese you could make savoury flapjacks? IIRC we found these too greasy/ rich so you could probably do without the salt and butter entirely.

Otherwise make something with the Reggae Reggae sauce and just grate the carrot in - I don't actually like the texture of cooked carrot so always grate it and it just disappears! Good for veg phobics.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Or I could just use the droopy carrot to dial the number of the local takeaway
??

Ah but you've not seen my culinary skills - or lack of them. Better a happy takeaway than several days off work with a sore tummy....
On that note - off to make some savoury flapjacks  - I live too far away from work to be visited if I'm off....
Oh dear - I've not got 2 large organic eggs - yet - chooky hens are a bit slow

The chicken stock has been split into four, one of which made chicken noodle soup (two portions left for lunches) and three have been frozen. Thinking of French onion soup, chicken and barley and perhaps leek and potato.
Managed to get four portions out of the tomato and veg sauce too, again three frozen and one in the fridge to put with chicken and pasta later in the week. Despite it being a week since the supermarket run the fridge and freezer are both rammed!!
I need do a freezer inventory and try and make the next shop just fresh fruit, vegetables and a few dry basics. No more dodgy veg to use up at the moment, but about eight overripe bananas still lurking in the freezer!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

The wonders of living in a city centre! At ten minutes to five I decided that I should put £200 cash into our joint account, pick up an extra £50 and transfer it into my savings. This leaves me with £500 in the bills account gaining 6% interest, -£500 in my student account at 0% and £150 cash to last me the rest of the month. :TDeclutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

My smart new Cuisinart electric grill arrived this morning, ready for sausages later in the week. :j
I've been locked out of the forums all afternoon!! But I have used my time wisely reading Weezl74's eat healthily on 50p per day threads. New ideas for frugal food include banana ice cream to use up a glut of overripe bananas that are taking over both the fruit bowl and the freezer, chicken liver pate, mushroom and red lentil pate, French onion soup, chicken and barley soup ...
EDIT: Having researched healthy/ simple banana ice cream recipes I picked up a tin of full fat evaporated milk (50p) and a tin of Value custard (25p) on the way home. If this works out I am going to buy Smartprice instant custard powder at 7p next time! :money:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
