    well if its served in the right glass!

    crush fresh raspberries (cheap as from the garden if DD hasnt eaten them first) with a little icing sugar in the bottom, dollop of ice cream on top of that, followed by splodge of rasp angel delight and then some greek yoghurt, flaked almonds and top with another raspberry. Looks ever so grand

    Why not forget about dessert altogether - except perhaps one day a week? You don't need the dessert, you just want it.

    Fill up on extra green veg with the main course.... just as good a way of getting your five a day and there's no added sugar...

    Chill a large tin of evaporated milk, empty into a large bowl and whisk with an electric whisk until double in size.Take a strawberry or blackcurrant jelly and melt with a little water. Pour into the evaporated milk whilst whisking so the jelly colours the milk, and is well mixed in, pour into 4 dishes and put in the fridge to set, you can also put it in a a large dish. serve with a blob of whipped cream or ice cream. You can just pour single cream on if you want. Its like a mousse without out all the faffing melting gelatiine etc.......there are two of us and it lasts a couple of nights. If you want just enough for one night use a small tim of eveaporated milk and half the jelly.......

    You can also add cheap lemonade to jelly after melting it in hot water. Tesco's own angel delight type thing is 9p or something ridiculous like that. I make the sponge in the microwave too, very quick and cheap, with syrup. I do a big tray of ginger cake and thats soo good with custard. Am going to try making my own ricotta for cheesecake so will let you know how it goes. Its only full fat milk and vinegar and should make a real american style cheesecake thats very filling.

    Bananas and cream?

    Bananas and angel delight?

    Fruit yoghurt?

    Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Lol

    Got to be said butterscotch angel delight is lethal in our household - we use to make it up and pour it into pint glasses as a treat and then have a pint each of it! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    I like some of the older favourites but things in my household have to be made quickly, and hidden easily otherwise they don't stand a chance past the first night!

    Making a Mr T basic jam sponge (22p - although I prefer fresh ingredients to packet stuff) and serving with value custard (6p instant whip sachet) .

    Bananas and custard

    Jelly - 6p for value or 36p for branded

    Rice Pudding - again tesco value is 17p a tin I think?

    Mr T Strawberry whip - 5p i think

    Ice cream sauces (value) are 80p but with a cheap tub of ice cream could be yummy and last a while. Even longer if you brought some waffle cones too and had them instead.

    My 6 year old Ben enjoys making treats too - so far he has managed to make

    * strawberry whip ice lollies
    * blackcurrant ice lollies
    * orange ice lollies
    * blackcurrant crush (make up slightly stronger blackcurrant juice, and freeze then crush up with stick blender to its fine like a slush puppy consistency
    * twinks hobnobs! ok he had help but knows the ingredients off by heart! :D:D

    * fruit salad - ok so this one was a bit of an easy one but he did it himself and it fed my partner in a healthy lunch time desert! Ben came shopping with me and chose
    Mr T value peaches - 24p
    Mr T value apples - 30p
    Tin of Pineapple chunks - £1
    Tin of pear quarters - 57p
    Grapes - we had a bag in fridge already
    Then once I'd opened tins he put them all in a bowl, pulled grapes off the storks whilst I cut up apple for him and kept it all in a big bowl in the fridge. Boyfriend loved it, was easy to make and it lasted about 6 days! Ok so it cost about £2 to make but divided over 6 days meant only 35p a day and he was having his fruit intake.
    Time to find me again
