Hiya
I made this for pud for OH the first time he ate at mine (and I was bl00dy desperate to impress, as one is at first LOL)
I got some strawberries, blitzed 1/3 and saved as a prissy couli thing i thought looked cool. The rest I chopped finely and kinda mushed up with a fork to break down a bit but not too much and mixed into a load of whipped cream sweetened with icing sugar. Piled the cream into a brandy snap basket (Tesco) and topped with a reserved whole strawberry. Trickled with sauce. I've since done similar with frozen mixed berries
The effect was somewhat spoiled by the less than faint traces of garlic cos I'd made a schoolgirl error and flipped the board over, and then flipped it over again having forgotten I'd done it the first time.:o The "garlic strawberry incident" is something I don't think I'll ever live down...

Hi
Firstly, would like to apologise as I only seem to post on here when I want something, I feel so rude but as always would love some advice/ideas.
Yesterday,on the spur of the moment, I rather sillily invited mine and my DP's parents over for Sunday lunch today, I then began to panic that I have no food- but went through the freezer and veg trolley and found sufficient stuff to make a lovely meal. However, what can I make for pudding??
I have flours, sugars, cocoa, some fresh berries/fruits, dried fruits but I have no eggs and only have low fat spread (no cooking marg or butter) Any thoughts as i have no cash and don't want to draw out a whole £10 for a few ingredients for lunch cos I'll then spend all of the money which I really don't want to do.
Any Ideas, most welcome
Thanks everyone:love:11th March 2010- Got engaged to my amazing fiance, planning our wedding for 20120 -

Maybe some kind of choc berry sponge pud. I think if you had a google around you would find a recipe that would work with low fat spread. I have used it and had no probs when I am out of everything else. Trouble would be more the lack of eggs"Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without!!"Nov NSD: ?/30 Nov Make 10 Day ?/300Get Rid Of Debt: ?/2000 !! :mad:0

Would you be able to 'borrow' a couple of eggs from a neighbour or friend until you go shopping next? That would certainly give you more options pudding wise!MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. Can you make meriengues (spelling!)
Eton Mess is made up of crushed merangues with raspberries and cream mixed through, served in glasses and looks very posh. If you don't have cream then maybe ice cream would do?"This site is addictive!"

Thanks for your replies everyone, trigger, I spent ages this morning trying to get on the cooking by numbers website, I just couldn't get it to load, thats why i posted this thread!
Elona, to make meringues, you need egg whites don't you?!
Anyway, thank you very much everyone for you're replies, in the end we just had berries and ice cream, and DP and his dad had cheese and crackers with grapes and apple pieces.
It'll teach me to run out of eggs though won't it!
My mum and dad and DP's mum are now drifting off for a nap on the sofa and Dp and his Dad are outside, talking about a new fence so thought I'd pop on here.
Thank you again! x:love:11th March 2010- Got engaged to my amazing fiance, planning our wedding for 20120
