A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning.

The wife said, "You should do it, because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee".

The husband said, " You are in charge of the cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee."

Wife replies, "No you should do it, and besides it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee."

Husband replies, " I can't believe that, show me."

So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and shows him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says:

    "HEBREWS"

Now this one did make me smile - thanks

Just a shame there isn't a man around I can try it out on...:(

No. Nothing's happened. No reason. Just low mood. Can't seem to shift it. Have even been out this eve (evening class) for the first time in weeks and was ok (ish) whilst out but came home still feeling gloomy. It's like a grey rain cloud permanently hanging over me whilst the rest of the country basks in a heat wave. Had doc's appointment today and usually feel a bit better after seeing him (he's a very good GP with background in mental health and I have good relationship with him) but didn't feel any better after it. I suppose this is the worst thing about depression - the lack of reason, not knowing why you feel the way you do.

I've been doing alot of reflective thinking about life 'n' stuff over the past month or so and am going through therapy at the moment so it might just be a reaction to that. Best not say anymore on that subject.

I really feel like typing as many really bad swear words as I can think of but I'd better not do that either.
it's good that you've been out, that always helps a bit doesn't it? If you don't mind me asking, what do you do at your evening class? Except for my exam at uni, I don't think I've been out since the 9th :(. I'm 19, aren't I meant to have friends and go out and stuff?

I've been thinking a lot about my life and the people in it recently, all that's happened is I feel worse because I don't feel like anything is going my way, I don't have anyone, things will never get better etc. I try to keep myself busy because the minute I get bored I start thinking like that.

I don't know how you're sleeping and eating, but try to keep them regular and in a routine. I'm sleeping in too long in the morning because it's so dark and I feel awful all day because of it.

Feel free to send me a PM full of swearing if it makes you feel better!
    Take care xx

Bless you - thanks for that x
I told the dog all the swear words and he just looked at me and went back to sleep!

I'm doing a course in (get this...!!!) Advanced Emergency First Aid - I'm a volunteer advanced first aider for a charity and the training course we have to do is really hard (Paramedic level) and there are 2 exams - the written one next week and the practical the following week. I'm not feeling confident as I've missed alot of training sessions over the past few months and the exams are really tough. Mad isn't it, that I can go out and save people's lives, and yet I struggle to leave the house to post a letter or meet friends in the pub.

Evening classes through your local Adult Ed centre can be really good as you can do all sorts of things and if you are on benefits, you should qualify for discounted fees which means that even if you don't go to all the sessions, it's not costing you too much so you can miss them without feeling guilty because of the cost. And you only sign up for a term at a time so it's not like you're taking on a huge commitment. I did an evening class in Sign Language when I was about your age (many many many  years ago!) and I really enjoyed doing it and although I haven't used it much, it felt really good to be able to do a few signs with deaf people that I've met over the years.

Off to bed - am halfway through a good book so I'll delve into that.

I don't think that's strange at all, it's so much easier to look after and put other people first rather than take care of yourself. Try not to freak out about your exam, I couldn't get any revision done for mine until a few days before it because I felt so crap, just couldn't motivate myself to do any work for it. I was ok on the day, managed to write a bit for each question anyway so I don't think I'll have failed it completely.

That's a good idea about the evening classes, I've looked into it before and there's nothing that I'd really want to do. The student union has plenty of societies and clubs, but none of them appeal to me either. I don't really have any hobbies, and there's nothing in particular that I'd like to take up. I'm back to uni next week so hopefully I'll be able to get into some sort of routine again.

thanks Katie, I think being off uni since the 12th of December hasn't helped, really bored being stuck at home for so long. My timetable is a bit pants because I have classes back to back from 9-2 on Fridays  I had this last semester too so I know that by the time 2pm comes I'll be starving because I don't have time to eat between classes!
Thanks for mentioning that missing girl, I didn't know she had been found, that's great news! :T
