  • Tiff, your Mum sounds like an amazing lady, and I hope that you can celebrate her life. Although it hurts when someone is no longer physically with us (my dad passed 18 years ago and I still miss him badly), I think that the best way to remember them is to think of the positive, the things that made you laugh. Like the stories my dad used to tell of what he got up to when he was young, with his best mate Jim. Memories of him playing on the floor with my nephew, his first grandchild (four of them were born after he died). The two of us going to see films like Star Wars. That is how I want to remember him.

Tiff, you are amazing and your mum sounds like a wonderful person. I'm thinking of you.
I'm watching the Horse Whisperer too! It's a lovely film, I've seen it before. OH is out this afternoon but I didn't feel up to going out. I've been so tired the last few days and today I decided to stop pushing myself to do things and just rest. It's quite nice, but I really really want some chocolate. I keep sending begging messages to my hubby to ask him to bring some home with him! This is a medical emergency!

I read the book, Horse Whisperer, before I saw the film and really enjoyed it. The film is good too but not as good as the book (its always the way isn't it! ) Good film if you haven't seen it though.
  • I can't remember whether I read the book before I saw the film, but I haven't seen the film for years and as I used to ride as a child, it is bringing back memories and stirring a desire to head off into the hills on horseback (with the dog at our heels). Both the scenery and the emotion of the film is bringing tears to my eyes but as I have eaten 2 big bars of chocolate, and emptied my cupboards and fridge of anything sweet and carbohydrate in the past 24 hrs, I suspect I might be premenstrual, and so possibly more emotional than usual.

Where's the smarties when we need them?

If anyone needs cheering up, there is a truly inspiring film on BBC1 right now, the Horse Whisperer. It started about an hour ago but is on till 6pm. Awesome scenery and very thought provoking messages about the depths of inner strength and the power of belief.

Oh, and another hour and half of Robert Redford...
Bleugh, trust me to trust DH to check the TV schedules before we went out this afternoon: I intended recording that but he said there was nothing on, and he failed to mention Robert Redford! Athough I often don't get round to watching films I've recorded, so it's perhaps no great loss.

Anyway, thanks everyone for getting and staying back on track. Sending virtual chocolate and hugs to all who want them! :rotfl:
