Hugs to anyone feeling low at the moment and having a hard time. ((()))

Im a bit teary myself this morning. Had enough of the "festivities" now and want to get back to normal. My daughter is insisting we go out tonight and I think I would rather just curl up in a chair and keep warm in front of the tv. She's 18 though and needs a night out. Her mates aren't doing anything special so if we don't go then she won't be going out either. She's going to be the driver and we're going out with SIL and BIL so I know we'll be with nice people! They also live within about 10 steps of the club we're going to so I know that, if needed, I can pop back to their house for a bit of quiet if I want and this helps enormously!

Sorry about your dog, Slowly. Its heartwrenching when they go. Hang in there because it will start to hurt less and you will have your happy memories instead.

    Happy New Year everyone!

    Hi guys!hello.gif
I know some peeps, including ilgd and wvw and sf, who have lost their *w-a-g-g-y-t-h-i-n-g* canine friends recently and I can sympathise with you. I know what losing a pet feels like and I'm sorry for your loss.sLo_hug2.gif
Being the Tiffster that I am - and having no life!rolleyes.gif - I went down to the Tiff archives and found some links which allow you to create free online memorials to your pet. Some of the sites might start to charge after a certain period, but I did my best to weed those out, so hopefully these really are free to use - just double check them first, guys.wink.gif

I even found this lovely site which has a free phone support line for people grieving for their pet...

    Need to talk?

Sometimes it helps to share your feelings with someone who knows from personal experience how distressing the loss of a pet can be, and who will listen confidentially, with compassion and without judgement.

    And finally...
I found this little site where you can create a virtual fish pet and play games with it etc., for free. I know it's not the same as having your own pet but it can be a nice little distraction.

And this link lists sites that have a wider range of animals. Again, please be careful that you're not signing up to something that will later charge you a fee.

If nothing else, it may also be some fun for the children in the holidays.wink.gif
From a fur-vently feline Tiff, take care everyone.sLo_hug2.gif

  • Tiff - has anyone told you lately you are wonderful?!

RBK - to quote an old Yorkshire saying 'there's nowt as odd as folk'. You may never understand why your Mum acts as she does but you can see their is a pattern to her behaviour and almost prepare yourself for the next fallout. Just concentrate on looking after yourself and make your personal space in the house a real sanctuary.

Shaz - see the quote above ;) Usually the people who put others down are the saddest of the bunch. Turn it round and say to yourself 'I'm glad I'm not that kind of person'.
  • Tiff, you are the guardian angel of this thread. xxx

Thank you for always thinking about other people, even through your own difficulties.

I'm ok, just doing some "battery recharging" at the moment, and I'll come through it once my batteries are recharged. I'm back off to bed today cos my flu from before xmas is back with a vengeance and having a big black furry licky waggy tail hot water bottle snuggled up next to me is as good as any AD for lifting my mood! We might also be joined by a pair of purry paws too, as the little one does enjoy sitting on the dog's head whilst licking his ears and eyes! Bless him, he puts up with it even when she starts doing the claw scratching thing on his nose although eventually he does give a little toss of his head to dissuade her from doing it any more :-)

Happy New Year to anyone who is celebrating, and have a good day to anyone who isn't - I'll probably be on MSE at midnight as I'll be home alone so come and join me if you're home, especially home alone. x

Feeling really bad today. My partner has just messaged from work to say he won't be home as he is going for curry and drinks after work will his mates. So that means I won't see him til next year. So much for seeing the new year in together. I'll be sat here all by myself.

Oh no, that's terrible news Rebekah. I'm not surprised you are feeling bad, when he changes plans at the last minute. Can you not go to a friends house or have someone round to yours?

Hmmm he claims he will be back before 12. We shall see ... I've had my tears and actually don't care. It's only another night right? I'll shove myself in the bath with a good book and then watch a film and get fat(ter) on chocolate.
Who am I kidding! Not not got any one close except my dad and I don't drive so wouldn't be able to get home.

    Katie :)
hi katie, how are you hun?
i'm ok today, was really down last night, after a so called friend, who i have known since infants, accused me of being a lazy cow (worse, but i won't repeat), and said my new years resolution, should be to get off my fat !!!! and look for a job, instead of living the life of luxury on benefits.
let me just say, it is not a luxury being on benefits, and i would dearly love to be able to work, if there was adequate childcare facilities for disabled kids.
rant over lol, sometimes helps me just gettign these things off my chest, hope nobody minds
    hugs
