Here's a better way: go to Start>All Programs and select either Microsoft Update or Windows Update.0

Go into Add/Remove Programs, select Windows Components, uncheck and then check Internet Explorer then OK.

I have done what you said, then when I selected start,programs the ie icon was there, but when I double clicked that it said "cannot find server"
Just to add, in the MB box it said 0.0 MB??????Regards

OK, so is the IE program/window actually opening. If yes all you have to do is go into Internet Options and reconfigure your Connection settings.
