Nationwide Autocentre
My car is due for an MOT in March. I've got some TESCO vouchers and was thinking of using it at a Nationwide Autocentre. Has anyone used them before? What was your experience?
The garage I normally use, I normally get a full service and MOT. It normally comes to about £150. With Nationwide, the price is £220 for the same, but of course I can use the tokens, which I've exchanged the vouchers for.
I've only got a 1995 Proton Persona automatic, with maybe 3000 miles per year usage.

I've used them, they are very good - they came out of the sell-off of Lex Autocentres about 3 years ago."Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."0

I have had mixed results from them - 1st time was good, 2nd time the oil plug was not put back in correctly so lost all the oil on the way home, they did fix it and gave me a ltr of oil as comp. 3rd time was for MOT, booked a while you wait and when my other half got there they told her she would have to wait for 3 hours!!!! as she had our 1yr old daughter with her she left. I complained to area manager and got a free MOT next time. The time I used that (end of last summer) there were no problems (but I did happen to leave the letter of apology from the area manager on the passanger seat, so that may have helped ;o) ) they even replaced a rear bulb free of charge so it did no fail!!! I would use them again, but only if they were cheapest or had a good deal via tokens - their workmanship is the same as all the fast fit places I'm afraid.0

We used them for a service, no problems at all and we still got some vouchers left, so will be trying them for a MOT this month."There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children; one of these is roots, the other wings" - Hodding Carter

really happy with them. Had a couple of cars serviced no probs, used aload of vouchers too. Just had a new back box on my old rover 214. £54 fitted, cheapest i could find on the web was £28 (+p&p), Too much hastle to do it myself for 26 quid! They called up and said there was a huge hole in the middle pipe too, all in £105. I was umming as skint until end of the month, so he knocked a £5er off!!

He showed me the part too when i went to collect
They are also a member of the RMI (retail motor federation)0 -
Thank you very much for your replies. I guess I will be making an appointment soon, once my tokens arrive.
Cheers once again.0 -
Do check their website for current offers, they have a choice of offer vouchers you can print off, we used £15 off a service and Mot and also a battery discount one last time we used them. I think they've got some others on too.

They do update them fairly frequently.
P.S. Don't forget you get Tesco clubcard points on your spend there too
Site also mentions AA members discounts and has details if you click on the link.0 -
Thanks. I phoned up the centre but they said that if I'm using Tesco vouchers, I won't be able to use any discounts with the online voucher. I did have one on me that offered 10% off MOTs.0

Hi
not sure if this should be a separate post in the vouchers bit or here. Please feel free to move this if required.
I have a £15 off combined full service and MOT test - All makes All models.
Also have £5 off full service and £5 off MOT test.
Since I have had no end of probelms with my 'local' (Northampton) centre (problems too many to list - not life threatening but really peevish and costly) I will not be taking up their 'kind' offer, so if anyone wants them PM me and send me an SAE and away y'go.

There was an email through recently with a full service for £99. Anyone know how much it is normally?0

I've just received my vouchers via e-mail as well. I think they send them to those who subscribe to their newsletter. Worth the while at £99 full service and 33% off MOT.
I don't think they'll accept TESCO tokens as payment with these special offers though.0
