Just got back from morrisons and our store had anice lady who helped some old people by swapping their unwanted receipts with the others inthe Q to help someone with 2 receipts per week as they were old and unable to carry £40 shopping home. I helped too and it was lovely to see the true xmas spirit there, also if you only have the c/c receipt they can re-print the itemised shopping receipt for you.

Hopefully karma will repay me as OH get made redundant on Friday, so a nice little win on the lotto would be a nice little help!!!

Oh and you cant use any other vouchers with the offer, even petrol £5 ones are excluded, just a headsup!!

  • My sister works at our local Morrisons and pointed out to my mam and grandma's that there is also a minimum spend to get the £20 off. I believe it is £40.

Just checked out the Morrisons website to confirm:

    Spending your £20 voucher
You can redeem your £20 voucher at Morrisons the next time you spend £40 or more. The voucher must be redeemed between Monday 15th and Wednesday 24th December 2008.

Its on radio York now a guy from Morrisons. A lot of customers have been complaining
  • I too was nearly duped by this...

I only kept the card receipts as these had the 'Week 1' etc details printed on.

After a long rant at the poor lady on the till and a stern word with the duty manager they agreed to give me the voucher anyway.

They also told me that this would be the case for everyone else in the same boat in that store.

This was Newport on the Isle of Wight, so if you had trouble there go back and demand your £20 like I did!

I wasn't sure which receipts to keep - so I kept both - I used my voucher today

Thinking about it though - it makes sense, to me, for them to request the itemised receipt back and not the card receipt - I always keep my card receipts to check against the bank statement and would then shred them after a certain amount of time

I don't think it's a con or a scam, I think it's very clever marketing - to make sure that people stick to shopping at Morrisons for 4/5 weeks which will then enable them to get £20 off what will most likely be the 'Christmas Shop'

I took part in the Morrison's offer and saved the itemised receipts as the instructions said. When it said 'receipt' I naturally took it to mean the 'receipt' and not the credit/debit card voucher. Look at it this way, if you'd paid by cash you wouldn't have a card voucher, therefore it's unlikely that that would be the one you were required to collect.

I'm sorry that some people were disappointed but in no way is this a 'con' and I wish that people would stop using words like that (and 'scam' and 'rip-off' and 'duped') to describe companies' actions when the real problem is that customers did not follow instructions properly.

They don't need the receipts for that, the till would tell them what people have been buying
