  • I bought one in a Somerfields in Preston at the weekend and tried it seriously for the first time today. For some reason it had a really weak signal for a long part of my trip then lost the signal completely for 25 miles then it came back as good as new. Is it dead or not? Any views?

Thanks but it's an 80 mile round trip so I wouldn't be able to get there before the weekend by which time I'm sure they'll be long gone - bah!

they still had 3 in stock this morning should anyone else want one. It was 4 but i bought one :j

    No Garmins though

Silly question time, my GPS bit on the back of the PDA, should it flip over easily? Mine seems to have some resistance when i try and open it, and i don't want to break it! ta
  • I've added all the Speed Camera and LPG filling station POI's to my Garmin i3 (got at Somerfield, Royston a few days ago) and have set the POI's to give proximity alert for Cameras and LPG. I've also set proximity alerts "on" on the i3.

The POI's are all listed on the i3, but they are not showing on the map view, or when navigating a route. I also set the LPG POI's to give a proximity alert when getting within a mile of them, but I drove right past one today without a squeak.

So, basically, no POI icons on screen and no proximity alerts given. I haven't been past any spped camera locations yet, so can't confirm if these are showing or not.

    Any help appreciated.

    How did you do that?

Mine makes an alert noise when im quite far away from the camera and it always gives an alert when im going over the speed limit which is annoying because it thinks the speed limit is 30 when it is actually 40 for sometime before. Do you know how to stop if from making a noise when you are over?

Ideally, i just want it to make the alert noise when im fairly close to a camera and thats it. Any ideas if its possible?

    I refer you both to:
    https://www.pocketgpsworld.com

Go to the Garmin Streetpilot forum and there you'll find answers to all your questions on how to change the POI alerts.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
