    Spikey,

Don't know much, but what i was advised was the PDA, it's a great bit of gear for the extras. VERY happy with it indeed!

Can I join your confused club. I love the Garmin, but have an unopened PDA also sitting here which is also very tempting.

Playing with the Garmin, I've found that it has maps for Northern France about 50 - 100 miles inland from Calais - useful for weekend and day trips together with the whole of Brittany - a very usefull bonus.

Am i right in thinking that the Garmin and the pda's use the same Navigon software?

Hence Garmin speed camera POIs will work on the pda too.

    Its quite simple

Garmin is a Sat Nav unit and nothing else

I agree - what is the the Garmin's favour though is that its very easy to use, small - therefore easy to position and does exactly what it says on the box - even my wife is warming to it - can't see her touching the pda.

In truth they are both very good bits of kit in their own right - I just wish I didn't have to decide which one to keep - has anyone else got both?

one you'll get to grips with quite quickly, one you'll be on here everyday finding out what it can and cant actually do, can you guess which is which?;)

all depends what you require, the £30 for extras may well be best for some, but noit for others, £30 for stuff you won't need is £30 whichever way you look at it, if you'll use ith though, it's very good value over the other
