is that a one off or every time!!!!!!!!!
Should be a couple of minutes or less after the first time - but it will still never work indoors as it needs to be able to "see" at least three satellites to know where it is, and it can't get a signal through walls/roofs..0 -
Works in my house! - telling me to turn right now while watching kill Bill 2!!! However - as Dan29 says - best to try it outside really - very shocked to get a link inside!0

I've had a play and first impressions look good. My main interest apart from the UK is for driving to Italy. Do I have to download maps for France Switzerland Italy, if so from where and do they cost?
Would the pda version be better for what I want?0 -
Folks,
It’s my other half’s birthday next weekend and after spotting this thread, I thought the PDA Sat Nav would be a great present as she’s always forgetting appointments and getting lost.
So today, I’ve been busy either phoning or visiting all the Somerfield branches in Gloucestershire and the Swindon area (cos I work there) for one of these units but I haven’t had any luck.
Are there any MSers willing to help me to source one of these units as it will make me the most popular person next weekend and make my other half’s birthday!
Many thanks in advance.0 -
italiastar wrote:From Italiastar to star1 - your a star! Thanks, I was surprised to find it was still there this evening. I think it had been returned as it was rattling about in the box - I think it must have some packaging missing - can someone else please confirm - and had a rubber magnetic thing marked GPS, which does not appear on the contents list - I think it must have come from the GPS speed camera detector they had on sale. I'm just playing with the Garman - any hints would be appreciated.
PS. if anyone wants the mp3 players, they had a few in mitcham.
Glad I was able to help .... ;-)
To save anyone checking - when I called around Somerfield stores around the Sutton and Croydon Areas - they either did'nt stock electrical items (too smaller stores), or had no stock left ..... good luck to all those hunting the bargains down !!0 -

That's a shame, because I'm quiet impressed with it - it's a nice piece of kit - simple to use. I'll have to give it some thought before taking it back.0 -
I think Maplin will have a queue of people tomorrow morning -
