NB if you have whitening done then you will probably need your two existing veneers replacing. Again as this is cosmetic this will not be covered on the NHS.

    Forgot about that bit! LOL
  • A friend of mine has had porcelain veneers done and he has cited the pros and cons of it along with the huge amount he had to pay for that around 700USD. These porcelain veneers san francisco shield the teeth and prevent any kind of abrasions to them along with providing a glittering shine. But teeth tend to loose this shine and in order to maintain it good eating habits and teeth cleaning is absolutely necessary.

Spam!! Prevent abrasions - aside from those with a high speed handpiece to strip the teeth of a layer of enamel!
  • You are taking it in wrong way It's not me who is saying this but dentists say this that abrasion is prevented, I heard it from my friend who had porcelain veneers enhancement done and the same could be seen here pccd.net/services/veneers.html. I do not intend to say wrong but if I am then please correct me.

How can abrasion be prevented when you are drilling off enamel in the first place to prepare the tooth for veneers?

The way to prevent abrasion is not to brush too hard, avoid overuse of "whitening" toothpastes such as pearl drops, avoid acid attacks on teeth from citrus fruits, fizzy drinks, vomiting and smoothies.

Difficult to say because in general once a veneer has come off it is difficult to re attach it with any degree of confidence because they will have come off because of a problem with the bite or tooth or veneer. Probably will be a band 2 treatment if it is done (most will need redoing or replacing with a crown) £39 Wales £47 ish England and variable amounts Scotland and NI .

Hello! I have funny teeth at the front of my mouth. Don't want to say why!

Basically, the enamel has started to come off, at the top of my front two teeth, nearest the gums.

Would I be a candidate for veneers? I don't know much about teeth!

Only a dentist who can actually see your teeth can say.Veneers are only one option , a simple filling may be a better bet.

What is more important is to tackle what it is that is causing "enamel to come away" otherwise you will have more than these two teeth with problems and veneering or whatever will not stop more damage bieing done..
