I have only just come across your posts baddiebasher, but felt I could offer some constructive feedback (we know you'll still read, or register with an AE). Perhaps you could look at how your own posts come across, as these do tend to affect how people reply to you. Your posting style is rather abrupt.

    Anyway, enjoy!

I've just read a few of the OP's posts and he comes across as an arrogant jackass!!
In fact, just the type of person he describes in his inane ramblings in the first post.

As if anyone cares if someone with a couple of weeks membership and a handful of argumentative posts disappears........

Close the door on your way out.

I signed up to MSE in the hopes of helping people with regards to statutory rights. I have a degree in this field and I am a consultant to several major firms as well as Trading Standards, the CAB, CCCS and carry out work for the OFT as well.

So I thought that my expertise in this field might be helpful, and possiby appreciated.

It seems however that, unless you belong to certain groups of people and agree with them, its a case of "get stuffed".

I reall do no understand how this forum works. You post correct advice, someone disagrees and casts insults, and then someone else comes along and clicks the "thank you for this useful post" button.

Great. Well done. I didn't realise it was a forum for, well, childish skirmishes and insults, as well as, quite frankly, some of the most appalling advice I have seen given (which gets a thnk you).

I'm carrying on posting on other sites and carrying out my normal work for people who might actually appreciate it, and leave you to your little playschool antics.

I'd like to say it was a pleasure, but it wasn't.

There are plenty of us on here with legal qualifications and what it can be easy to forget is firstly that even in a court case there will likely be two valid arguments made which completely contradict each other so having someone disagree with you is something you should both expect and be prepared for. Secondly it can be easy to forget that to the every day person the law isn't always going to be the answer, yes you may advise that statute allows only for one remedy in a situation, that someone is entitled to this alone, but there's nothing wrong with another poster pointing out that simply by arguing your case to a shop worker, appealing to their good nature or the goodwill of the company, you may get a better result than relying upon legal channels or the rights you are afforded by statute. Getting angry at these people and reacting with insults certainly isn't the answer and running away because someone has the audacity to disagree with you and offer contrasting advice doesn't sound like it either.

Edit: I've seen the thread that is likely the straw that broke the camel's back and to be honest it fits the above perfectly. The party has rights against a seller that is wholly untraceable and so their remedies under the SOGA are at best extremely limited and at worst non existant. The fact that the buyer has no remedies against the manufacturer is clearly all the other poster was trying to coax out of you and was also perhaps something you failed to consider.

  • I love the 'I'M LEAVING' post followed by 'NOES I'M REALLY LEAVING HONEST' post a few hours later. Christ almighty.

Just a last word - I have only logged on because I was expecting a message on how to unsubscribe.
But of course you have, as we all know, in order to see if there are any messages replied, giving details of how to unsubscribe.......you have to log in first ;). Welcome back ;) its always good to see newcomers return to MSE, even better to see those that simply dont want to stay away, we look forward to seeing you again sometime soon, after you have calmed yourself down and realised that the odd rogue poster really isnt worth giving MSE up for. ;)

    See you soon BB

  • If you take disagreements personally, then you may not be cut out for posting on a forum.

If you find people are being "rude" to you, then look at how you come across. You can be factually right and still come across in your posts as a complete jerk.

If by posting a flounce you were hoping for this kind of thing:

    forum_suicide.jpg

..then it hasn't really worked for you.

My advice is to keep posting if you feel you have something to contribute. If people disagree, then so what?

If you keep posting and take an honest look at how your posts come across, you might find you have a better experience here than you have had hitherto.
